NRL 2019: Issac Luke set to face Wests Tigers after Nathaniel Roache ruled out

Warriors hooker Issac Luke looks set to make his return from shoulder surgery off the bench against the Wests Tigers in Sydney.

Named among the extended reserves this week, Luke made it through Saturday's captain's run unscathed and since made the trip across to Sydney.

Luke has since been promoted from the reserves to the interchange bench after fellow hooker Nathaniel Roache was ruled out.

Halfback Chanel Harris-Tavita was also omitted from the team which was named earlier in the week.

NRL teams are required to name a 21-man squad on Tuesday and must cut two players 24 hours out from the game, and then drop a further two an hour before the match.

With Roache gone, Jazz Tevaga will likely start at hooker and Luke will play some minutes off the bench.

Luke underwent shoulder reconstruction in September and sat out both of the club's pre-season trials and the round one 40-6 victory over the Bulldogs.

The 31-year-old will bring some much-needed experience to the Warriors, who haven't won at Campbelltown Stadium since 2007.

"[Luke] has played in a lot of big games and the opposition we are coming up against have a lot of experence too, so it does have that sort of big game feel," said Warriors teammate Tohu Harris. "So that is something that's going to benefit us."
