NZ Cricket are poised to name a 15-man squad to contest the World Cup tournament in England, starting May 30.

The announcement is scheduled for 11am Thursday, with Blackcaps coach Gary Stead, chief executive David White, selector Gavin Larsen and high performance general manager Bryan Stronach presiding.

Among the players in attendance are Ross Taylor, Henry Nicholls, Matt Henry and Tom Latham, with many of those selected currently playing in the Indian Premier League.

New Zealand are currently ranked third in the world - behind England and India - over the one-day format and made the final of this tournament when it was contested in New Zealand and Australia four years ago.

Ten teams will play each other in a round robin format, with the top four progressing to semi-finals.
