All Whites striker Chris Wood has been recognised for his purple patch with Burnley in the English Premier League.

He's one of eight nominees for April's Player of the Month, alongside some of the biggest stars in the global game, including Liverpool's Mo Salah, Eden Hazard from Chelsea and Leicester City marksman Jamie Vardy.

Wood was involved in five of the Clarets' seven EPL goals during April, as they climbed away from the EPL relegation zone.

He hit the target against Bournemouth at the start of last month, before scoring a brace in the pivotal 2-0 home win over Cardiff City.

The 27-year old has proved his worth for Burnley, with 10 goals this season and 13 in all competitions.

They're 15th on the ladder, heading into the penultimate weekend - nine points clear of trouble.

Wood has two more matches to add to his tally, as his side faces Everton this weekend (Sunday NZT), then heads home to Turf Moor to host top-four contenders Arsenal on Monday, April 13.
