Football: Paris St-Germain's Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting produces the worst miss of all time

Paris St-Germain striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting has produced arguably the worst miss in the football history, as his team blew a chance to win the Ligue 1 title against Strasbourg.

Midway through the first-half, with the scored locked a 1-1, Paris midfielder Christopher Nkunku chipped the ball over Strasbourg's goalkeeper and it seemed certain to bounce into the net.

Instead, Cameroonian Choupo-Moting chased down the ball and, in attempting to put it in the net, he deflected it off the crossbar from point-blank range.

That miss would prove costly. The match finished 2-2, meaning Paris St-Germain would have to wait another week to win their sixth Ligue 1 title in seven years.

Earlier, Choupo-Moting put Paris St-Germain in the lead with a 13th-minute strike, but that was cancelled out with a goal from Nuno Da Costa.

After Choupo-Moting's horror miss, Anthony Goncalves put the visitors ahead in the 38th minute, before Paris levelled the match through Thilo Kehrer in the 82nd minute.

They can win the title if they avoid defeat at second-placed Lille next weekend.
