IPL: Mitchell Santner bowling effort can't rescue Chennai Super Kings

All-rounder Mitchell Santner has shown a rare glimpse of form among Kiwi cricketers in the Indian Premier League, as his table-topping Chennai Super Kings crumbled to Mumbai Indians.

The Blackcaps spinner lead his team's bowling effort, capturing the wickets of opener Rohit Sharma (67 runs off 48 balls) and Evin Lewis (32 runs), and conceding only 14 runs off his four overs.

Sharma paced Mumbai to 155/4 over their 20 overs and the Indians had their rivals in trouble from the start of their response, taking wickets at regular intervals and dismissing them for just 109.

Batting eighth, Santner managed 22 runs off 20 balls, including two sixes, before he was the last to fall in the 18th over.

With the Kiwi contingent struggling for game-time in the competition, Santner has provided a couple of highlights. Earlier this month, he hit a six on the final ball to steer the Super Kings home against Rajasthan Royals.
