A London Marathon runner dressed as 'Big Ben' got stuck at the finish-line while trying to break a world record.
Lukas Bates tried for entry into the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest marathon runner dressed as a landmark in the 42.2km race on Monday (NZ time).
As he crossed the line, the top of his giant clock-tower costume couldn't fit under the finish arch and he got stuck.
Luckily. a race volunteer came to his aid and he was able to squeeze under the obstacle to complete the run.
Bates, who ran the London Marathon for the fifth time, finished with a time of 3h 54m, 20 minutes off the current record.
Richard Mietz set the record last September at the Berlin Marathon, where he ran dressed as the Holstentor city gate in Lubeck.
Kenya's Eliud Kipchoge won the men's race at London, with the second-fastest marathon in history.
The 34-year-old triumphed in 2h 2m 38s, with Engish great Mo Farrah finishing fifth.
Fellow Kenyan Brigid Kosgei, 25, became the youngest female London winner, while American Daniel Romanchuk and Switzerland's Manuela Schar won the men's and women's elite wheelchair races.
