The Chiefs will welcome Brodie Retallick back into the fold for their northern derby against the Blues in Hamilton on Saturday.

The colossal lock missed the match against the Jaguares as part of his All Blacks-mandated rest, but will reclaim the number-four jersey and captain's armband at FMG stadium.

Tyler Ardron will shift from number eight to partner Retallick in the second row.

The front row has also undergone a facelift, with Angus Ta'avao moving to loosehead prop for the injured Aidan Ross. Nathan Harris will remain at hooker, with Nepo Laulala at tighthead.

In-form flankers Luke Jacobson and Lachlan Boshier remain, with Taleni Seu to start at number eight to round out the forward pack.

The backline remains unchanged from the line-up that beat the Jaguares.

After a slow start to their campaign, the Hamilton-based franchise hope to earn their third consecutive win against a Blues side that are in the midst of their best run of form in years.
