Wellington Phoenix striker Roy Krishna has claimed the top prize at the club's end-of-season awards.

In total, Krishna won three awards, including the Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and the club's 'Golden Boot' award for scoring 18 goals last season.

Krishna was also recognised for scoring his first career hat-trick against Melbourne City.

The 31-year-old was instrumental in leading the Phoenix to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.

The Fijian-born star is off contract and hasn't signed a new deal with the club yet, but Krishna told Newshub he was "very close" to making an announcement.

Other award winners for the Phoenix included striker David Williams, midfielder Alex Rufer and defender Liberato Cacace.

Williams, who is also off contract, was recognised for scoring a hat-trick against the Newcastle Jets and his third in that game was voted Goal of the Season.

Rufer won two trophies, claiming the inaugural Bandage Award and Lloyd Morrison Award.

Former player Ben Sigmund selects the Bandage Award winner, which is awarded to the player showing the most fight, resilience and determination throughout the season.

The Lloyd Morrison Trophy goes to someone who epitomises what it means to play for the club.

Cacace claimed the U23 Player of the Year award.

The Phoenix have seven players contracted for next season, including English defender Steven Taylor, along with young Kiwis Cacace, Rufer, Sarpreet Singh, Louis Fenton, Callan Elliot and Oli Sail.

Meanwhile, departing Phoenix coach Mark Rudan seems set to be unveiled as the new coach of Western United on Thursday.
