Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox was full of nerves, as he lined up a couple of drives in front of golfing legend Jack Nicklaus before the Memorial Tournament in Ohio on Thursday (NZT).

The 32-year-old posted a video on his Instagram page at the Muirfield Village Golf Club, where he was joking around with the 18-time Major winner and hitting balls off the tee.

"This will be more nerve-wracking the first tee-shot tomorrow," Fox said.

"Don't hurt yourself," joked the American, who founded the Memorial Tournament in 1976.

"Very cool to be part of the clinic with Jack Nicklaus this afternoon at @memorialgolf," Fox said in his post.

"Accidentally managed to insult him about his age twice but hit my driver good at least."

'The Golden Bear' also caught up with Tiger Woods and former NFL Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning.

Fox is scheduled to play in the tournament, which gets underway on Friday.
