Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic defender Casey Kopua has been given a much deserved send off from Claudelands Arena with a 61-52 victory over the Northern Mystics.

The Netball great sealed a final home game in Hamilton, the stadium named 'Casey Kopua Arena' for the night.

Kopua played her final home game for the club she has represented since 2003 when she debuted as a Matamata College student; she has now played 186 games for the province.

The win is just the Magic's fifth of the season but it gave something for the home fans to smile about.

Defenders Kopua and Kelly Jury were busy throughout the game up against teenage ace Grace Nweke.

The star throughout the game was Magic shooter Kelsey McPhee who continued her positive play this season - she finished with 47/55 at 85 per cent.

But the night belonged to Kopua who after 17 seasons said goodbye.

Her daughter, Maia delivered the match ball on what was a special mother's day for the mum and Magic legend Casey Kopua.
