All Blacks and Chiefs halfback Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi has re-signed with New Zealand Rugby until 2021.
Tahuriorangi believes remaining in New Zealand is the best option for him and his family, as he looks to add to his three All Blacks caps.
"It was an easy decision for me and my partner to make," Tahuriorangi said.
"My whanau are exceptionally important to me and I’m looking forward to having them continue with me on this journey."
The 24-year-old Rotorua-product made his debut for the Chiefs in 2016, before national selectors took notice and called him into the All Blacks squad as their third-choice number nine for the 2018 test season.
All Blacks head coach Steve Hansen said he was looking forward to seeing Tahuriorangi continue to develop his game.
"Te Toiroa made a really good start in his debut season with the All Blacks," said Hansen.
"We look forward to watching him and his game grow even further over the next few seasons."
Brad Weber's return as first-choice halfback for the Chiefs has seen Tahuriorangi's opportunities limited this season so far, but coach Colin Cooper says there's still plenty of room for growth.
"Te Toiroa is a talented halfback and has already demonstrated his potential," said Cooper.
"Our team continues to be strengthened with the competition he provides at halfback and we are looking forward to seeing how he develops with the Chiefs over the years to come."
