Baseball: Shocking footage shows parents brawl at baseball game for seven-year-olds

A youth baseball game between seven-year-olds turned into an all-out brawl between parents and coaches, leading to injuries and a plea from Colorado police for more information.

The incident happened on June 16 (NZT) at Westgate Elementary School in Lakewood, Colorado, and police spokesperson John Romero said the brawl started after parents disagreed with a call made by a 13-year-old umpire.

Lakewood Police released a 30-second clip of the mass brawl, appealing for help to identify a man who was captured punching the side of another man's head, knocking him to the ground.

In the video, one stunned supporter can be heard asking, "What is happening?", while another shouts, "oh my gosh".

Romero added that four people involved had been cited for disorderly conduct. Several adults were injured, but none required hospital treatment.

"I think the saddest part in all of this is we're talking about a seven-year-old baseball game," Romero told KDVR Radio. "I think it's the parents who have to grow up."

Luckily, no children were injured in the brawl.
