Heavyweight title fight: Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz Jr
Result: Andy Ruiz via TKO Round 7.

Wrap: I can't quite beleive what I have just seen. Andy Ruiz shocked the entire sports world this afternoon - that was insane and to be honest, he dominated AJ and forced him to quit. AJ very humble post fight, embracing the new champion.

Round 7: Nice left by Ruiz lands and then a barage of punches and AJ is down again!! He's back up at eight but Ruiz is right there in his face and AJ takes a knee. That's it!!!! The referee has stopped the fight and Andy Ruiz is the new WBO, IBF and WBA heavyweight champion of the world. Massive upset!!! 

Round 6: I've got Ruiz up by 2-points but these rounds are super close. AJ lands a left hook and Ruiz fires back nicely....AJ has his legs back but Ruiz has taken his best shots so far. Ruiz lands a nice left hook followed by a right that just misses. Short right from Ruiz lands....AJ clinches. Ruiz with a big right misses and AJ lands a nice counter. Ruiz lands a left and then a body shot followed by a big right. Ruiz 10-9.

Round 5: AJ lands a nice left hook out of the gate - he looks to have recovered a bit. Joshua just pawing his left hand out for distance......Ruiz misses with a big right hand. Ruiz stalking AJ but not landing..AJ going back to the body and now he lands a big overhand has Ruiz backing up but he lands straoght back to stop AJ's assault. Close but i'll give that to AJ. Joshua 10-9.

Round 4: Ruiz rushing out and is after AJ. Big left hook from AJ lands but Ruiz shakes it off. Ruiz showing patience but allowing AJ to recover a bit. Not much happening in this round - both guys cautious - but Ruiz gets it by his forward motion. Ruiz 10-9.

Round 3: AJ started to find his range at teh end of teh round - lets see if he can continue that progress. Joshua misses a big left hook...Ruiz is quick. Ruiz still moving forward. AJ lands a heavy right then a short left and Ruiz is down but up at eight. AJ in for the kill but he gets knocked down with a hue right. AJ is back up at eight. AJ is in trouble as Ruiz has him backing up...this is huge..AJ looking done...but Ruiz looks tired. AJ down again and he looks out on his feet but he is saved by the bell!!Q What the hell did i just watch! Ruiz 10-8.

Round 2: Joshua's corner not happy with his first round performance. Ruiz comes out swinging and lands on the Brit but he recovers quickly. Ruiz looking good...Joshua looks confused, struggling with his timing. Joshua lands a solid left hook but Ruiz fires right back with a one-two hook himself. Very close round but i'll just give it to AJ. Joshua 10-9.

Round 1: Joshua establishing his jab....looking to work the soft belly of Ruiz Jr. The Mexican lands a nice right that backs AJ up. Ruiz moving forward nicely, he looks very composed. Joshua misses a big right hook. Ruiz on the front foot to end the round. AJ didn't land much - score that to Ruiz. Ruiz 10-9.

2.45pm - Okay here we go finally - referee gives his instructions and the fighters touch gloves.

2.44pm - My god this is taking a long time. 

2.41pm - Michael Buffer getting into his biz as we get ready to rumble.

2.39pm - And for some eason we now have the US anthem...USA,USA,USA!

2.38pm - And now AJ with hand on heart for the British anthem.

2.37pm - Time for the national anthems. Ruiz is and the Mexican tune is up first.

2.34pm - Joshua does look a little tense as he makes his way underneath Madisen Square Garden but i'm sure once the bell rings, he will be on his game.

2.32pm - And now time for the heavyweight champion....Anthony Joshua....to make his ring walk to much fanfare.

2.30pm - Andy Ruiz Jr making his way towards the ring.

2.22pm - Joseph Parker is ringside to watch his new stable mate. The Kiwi signed with Eddie Hearn for a three-fight deal yesterday. 

2.17pm - Absolute jam-packed crowd inside Madisen Square Garden. This is a massive moment for Joshua - can he make a statement to rival that of Deontay Wilder two weeks ago.

2.10pm - Joshua vs Ruiz is next - could be a bit of time before the fight gets underway though, given anthems and introductions etc......the PPV coverage is just cracking into the pre-fight hype. 

1:58pm - Callum Smith knocks out N'Dam in round 3. He dropped him four times throughout. Domination.

1:53pm - Young British super middlewight prospect Callum Smith is making easy work of Hassan N'Dam in the co-main event.

1:25pm - Wow - two judges score the fight 96-94 to Taylor, while the other scored it 95-95. Taylor somehow wins a majority decision.

1:20pm - What a great fight bewteen the two ladies.It's for the undisputed lightweight championship of the world.....I think Persoon may have pinched it.

1:17pm - Katie Taylor might be in some trouble in her feature fight against Delfine Persoon. Really close fight with a round to go - the pair one loss in 57 fights bewteen them.

The power-punching Brit, fighting outside of the United Kingdom for the very first time, is defending the ABO, IBF and WBA heavyweight straps.

Ruiz Jr is familiar to New Zealanders, his only professional fight coming at the hands of Joseph Parker two years ago, for the then-vacant WBO championship. 

The Mexican-American is riding a three-fight win streak since that loss in December 2016.

His list of victims includes Alexander Dimitrenko, Kevin Johnson and Siarhei Liakovich. He holds a career record of 32-1.

Joshua is an Olympic Game champion and is undefeated as a professional, holding an impressive 22-0 record with 21 stoppages.

'AJ'has an impressive hotlist having dispatched Parker, Alexander Povetkin, Carlos Takam, Dillian Whyte, Dominic Breazeale and Wladimir Klitschko.
