TOTTENHAM 0-2 LIVERPOOL

9:15am - Here is the match wrap and video of the goals.

9:05am - We will have a wrap and video of the goals on our webiste shortly. Thanks for tuning in. Liverpool beat Tottenham 2-0.

For me, Andy Robertson was the best player on the field, but I believe Virgil van Dijk claimed man-of-the-match.

FULLTIME: Damir Skomina blows his whistle and Liverpool have won the Champions League. Players drop to their feet while the bench storms onto the field. They avenge last years heartbreak with a 2-0 win over Tottenham. Mohammad Salah and Divock Origi are the goalscorers.  Spurs tried and tried, but their last pass let them down at time. Son was outstanding for the 'home side,' but he couldn't do much.  Tottenham were the better side in large periods but it's Liverpool who celebrate.

92mins - Another shot by Son is saved by Allison. Corner to Spurs. That is followed up by a shot to Harry Kane which is also saved.

90mins - Five minutes of added time. Can Tottenham score twice here?

89mins - Final change coming up for Liverpool. Joe Gomez comes on for Sadio Mane.

87mins - GOAL LIVERPOOL - Divock Origi finds the back of the net, and the Reds know that will be enough for them to lift the Champions League trophy. A poor clearance lands at Origi's feet, and he makes no mistake finding the back of the net.

86mins - Now a corner to Liverpool to come.

84mins - Great curling effort by Christian Eriksen is saved by Allison and a corner to come.

83mins - Free kick to Tottenham, literally on the edge of the box. Massive chance coming up here.

81mins - Dele Alli comes off, and Fernando Llorente comes on. That is Spurs' final substitute of the game.

80mins - Alisson saves another shot by Son as the clock ticks over 80 minutes.

79mins - Son fires a shot from 30-yards out straight at goal and Alisson throws himself in front of the ball. Seconds later, Moura had a shot and Brazilian Alisson makes the save.

78mins - Harry Kane, yes that is the first time i've said his name since the teams were confirmed - finds Kieran Trippier on the right side and his cross finds Alli in the box, but the header goes over the crossbar.

75mins - A couple of chances for Son, but this Liverpool defence continues to hold firm. I've been impressed with Son today, has been one of the best out on the field - certinaly the best for Spurs.

74mins - Eric Dier comes on  for Moussa Sissoko.

73mins - It has taken a long time, but Tottenham finally have a shot on target. Dele Alli tries a cheeky flick over Allison, but he doesn't get enough power on the shot, and the Liverpool keeper cleans up. Another golden chance missed.

71mins - More changes for Spurs, but once again, the final pass continues to let them down. Surely they must convert on one of their chances.

70mins - Twenty minutes remain. Twenty minutes for Tottenham to find an equaliser or for Liverpool to hold onto their lead.

68mins - James Milner is hitting himself in the head after his left-foot shot goes two inches wide of the posts.

66mins - The shot count has risen. Liverpool have had 10 with two on target. Spurs with six shots, zero on targert. However. Tottenham are still dominating the possession numbers.

65mins - Mauricio Pochettino makes his first change of the game. Smi-final hero Lucas Moura comes on for Harry Winks.

63mins - Second change for Liverpool as Wijnaldum comes off for James Milner.

61mins - Christian Eriksen shoots but can only hit the legs of Virgil van Dijk,

59mins - First change of the game sees Roberto Firmino make way for Divock Origi - who scored twice in the semi-final second leg win over Barcelona.

58mins - Back-t0-back corners for Spurs right now. Jan Vertonghen's headder goes over the crossbar.

56mins - This battle between Son and Robertson is great. Both are playing out of their skin and it's a beauty to watch.

54mins - Tottenham go right on the counter attack and a bounce doesn't go their way and Liverpool manager to clear downfield.

53mins - The game is starting to open up now and Mohammad Salah has a shot blocked by a Tottenham defender. Then Andy Robertson's cross just lands in the hands of Hugo Lloris.

51mins - Spurs really pushing now, but Liverpool's defence is amazing right now. Spurs still dominating possession stats, but can't convert their chances into opportunities.

49mins - Attacking free kick to Tottenham. They try a cheeky chip over the defence to Son, but the South Korean was offisde. Great thinking from Spurs.

47mins - Two early chances for Tottenham, but once again the final pass lets them down.

45mins - The second half is underway. Spurs get up started this time round.

HALFTIME - Not the most exciting first half, but Liverpool hold a 1-0 lead courtesy of a penalty goal to Mohammed Salah in the second minute of the match. Only two shots on target in the first half.

46mins - A great chance is blown by Christian Eriksen as a rare shot by a Spurs player flies over the goal.

45mins - Two minutes of added time coming up.

42mins - Another Liverpool cross is deflected out, and a corner is coming up... Seconds later, the ball goes out again for another corner.

41mins - Liverpool look really nervy at the moment.

38mins - From the ensuing corner, Salah fires the ball over the crossbar. Very Sissoko-esk from his attempt earlier in the match.

37mins - Then Andy Robertson makes a break and the Scotsman forces Hugo Lloris to make a save and out of play.

36mins - The game is very quiet at the moment. Not many chances for both teams. Some on Twitter saying it's a snooze-fest.

33mins - Corner to Spurs and it's taken quickly. But Liverpool clear the ball out of the box.

32mins - More desperate defence prevents Tottenham from getting a shot on goal. They're playing the ball around looking for a crack in Liverpool's defence.

30mins - Quarter of an hour left in the first half. Salah scored early with a penalty goal, but Spurs have probably been the better of the two sides, although Liverpool have had more changes. The final pass continues to let the 'home team' down. Fairly even contest though.

27mins - Son Heung-min is called offside as he wins the race to a through-ball. Marginal at best.

25mins - Another Liverpool corner which comes to nothing. That was their third of the match.

22mins - Spurs are looking the better of the two teams right now, but Liverpool still lead. Andy Robertson puts in a great cross, and Danny Rose just beats Salah to the ball, and it goes into touch.

20mins - After 20 minutes, Liverpool has two shots on goal, while Spurs have the one. The Reds have a corner coming up.

19mins - Son Heung-min makes a break, but Alexander-Arnold is quick to react, and the young England international clears the ball away.

17mins - Liverpool steals the ball inside Spurs' half, and Trent Alexander-Arnold fires a shot from 30-yards out which was a few inches wide of their left-half post. That would have probably beaten Lloris. Play stops of a moment, maybe somebody ran onto the field?

15mins - Tottenham dominating the possession stats, but they're not doing much with the ball. They've had roughly 66 percent after 15 minutes.

12mins - The noise and singing around the stadium is remarkable. Spurs with the ball right now and they find Kieran Trippier on the wing, and they look for a scoring option.

10mins - Corner to Liverpool coming up. Trent Alexander-Arnold to cross the ball in. Hugo Lloris gets a fist to the ball and Spurs clear.

8mins - Tottenham look threatening, but the Liverpool defence continues to hold firm. Moussa Sissoko fires a rocket from outside the box, and it soars into the 20th row int he stands.

5mins - The reliable Virgil Van Dijk clears the ball, and the Reds are back on the attack.

4mins - Tottenham get inside the box for the first time, and Jordan Henderson clears the ball into touch. Spurs corner to come.

2mins - GOAL LIVERPOOL: Mohammad Salah converts from the spot and Liverpool lead 1-0. That just scraped past the beat of Hugo Lloris.

1min - PENALTY LIVERPOOL: Sadio Mane goes to cross the ball, and it hits the hand of Tottenham defender Moussa Sissoko. Referee  Damir Skomina blows his whistle for a penalty, and Mohammad Salah will have a shot at goal from the spot.

KICKOFF: We're underway in Madrid. Liverpool gets us started and You'll Never Walk Alone is sung around the ground.

7:01am - A moments silence before the match for former Spannish footballer Jose Antonio Reyes who died in a car accident on Saturday.

6:56am - Both teams now walking out onto the field.

6:48am - Time for the pre-match entertainment which is Imagine Dragons. Sounds like they're doing a mash-up of their top songs.

6:35am - As we get closer to kickoff, I better point out that I don't support either side competing in the final. So I won't be biased in any way. In fact, my team (Bradford City) were just relegated to League Two next season so I have no beef with Liverpool or Spurs at all.

6:21am - Both teams are out on the field to complete their final warm-ups before the match.

6:09am - As we get closer to the final, take a look at one Spurs fan who has flown all the way from New Zealand for the match. Click here to view the story.

Pre-match banter: Liverpool defeat still hurts Barcelona captain Lionel Messi

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi is eyeing a domestic double to finish the season on a high, after the disappointment of a Champions League exit earlier this month.

The Catalan giants' hopes of a treble were dashed, when they squandered a three-goal lead against Liverpool, who turned in a fantastic performance at Anfield to triumph 4-3 on aggregate in their semi-final.

Messi admitted Barcelona's horror show on Merseyside was still hanging over them, as evidenced by a 2-2 draw at Eibar on the final day of the season in Spain's La Liga.

Yet, having retained their league crown, Messi knows Barca must shake off any lingering European hangover, when they take on Valencia in the Copa del Rey final at Real Betis' Estadio Benito Villamarin.

"We are still getting over the setback at Liverpool," said Messi. "It was a big blow.

"It was difficult to pick ourselves up, as you could see in the following game.

"It has been a spectacular year, in which we have won the league and we are in the final of the Copa del Rey. We have had a great season, with the exception of the game at Liverpool.

"That game has spoilt a little the year we have had. I want to win the final and end the season with another trophy.

"We are all aware that it is a final and it's another trophy to win. We have to end the season well, celebrating another title if we can."

Messi bagged a brace against Eibar last weekend, taking his tally to 50 goals for the season in all competitions.

The 31-year-old remains the heartbeat of Barcelona and insists he has no plans to leave the club he first joined as a 13-year-old in 2001.

While Ernesto Valverde has been successful at domestic level, Barca's struggles in Europe have brought the head coach's future into focus.

"I would like Valverde to continue," Messi said. "Last season, we did the double and this season we can do it again."

Barca, who are looking to win the Copa del Rey for a fifth successive year, will be without Luis Suarez, after the Uruguayan had surgery on his knee, while goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is also sidelined.

Philippe Coutinho played a full part in Thursday's training, although fellow midfielder Arthur and forward Ousmane Dembele are doubtful.
