Cricket World Cup 2019: Conditions clearing for Blackcaps clash with South Africa

The Blackcaps Cricket World Cup pool match against South Africa looks like it should avoid becoming a victim of inclement weather.

Host city Birmingham was soaked overnight, but the local Met Office confirms there's now just a 10% chance of further rain through the rest of the day.

Conditions at ground level are yet to be determined, but pending the lack of further rain, should drain in time for play to start on time.

Either way, South Africa will have their backs up against the wall as they look to salvage their campaign. Anything less than a win against the Blackcaps – including a rained off match – will likely see their chase for the Cup over.
