Warriors – 24       Titans - 20

FULLTIME - Nervous times for the Warriors faithful but they've held on for a win, albeit an ugly one. Not that anyone's complaining. Check out a full game wrap here.

80 mins - Third tackle and Brimson has inexplicably put in a grubber that falls safely for RTS. That will do us, the Warriors hold on!

79 mins - Brimson taken in a superb tackle from Green. Blair has been called for a late tackle and he's on his way to the bin!

78 mins - Peats takes tackle three at halfway. Arthars well taken by Hiku. RTS takes the bomb a metre from his line. Slow plays of the ball, Titans defence is swarming. 4th tackle..one-on-one strip by the Titans! Ah Mau strips it back, and the referee penalises him for it. Titans will have one last shot from 30m out...

76 mins - TRY TITANS - Lazy left-edge defence, lovely double around play and Brimson gasses Hiku to dive into the corner and give his team hope. Critical conversion here....and Roberts puts it over the black dot. Game on. (NZ 24-20)

76 mins - Titans go for the short kickoff and it pays off, they'll take tackle three 30m out...

74 mins - TRY WARRIORS - Beautifully quick hands from Nikorima to Hiku, who immediately gives Maumalo some room and the big wing dives and dots a deft one-hander right in the corner. Luke slots a huge sideline conversion, and that SHOULD do it. (NZ 24-14)

73 mins - RTS caught with few options on the last, draws two and offloads to Papali'i, who grubbers, chase is on but it's batted dead. Six more for NZ.

72 mins - Luke explodes from dummy half a metre out. Can't quite get there, as the Bunker confirms.

71 mins - NZ scrum, 20m out. Can they put the game away here?

70 mins - Ah Mau with a barnstotming run to go over halfway. Nikorima looks to his outsides, Arthars sniffs the intercept but gets too big a touch on it. He would've been away untouched.

68 mins - TRY WARRIORS - Green at first receiver, steps inside a rushing defender into an acre of space, draws the fullback and puts RTS over next to the posts. Conversion an easy one.

67 mins - NZ work their way out of their half. They're yet to take a tackle in the GC 20m this half. Yes, you read that correctly.

65 mins - Stockwell looks to have spilled the ball after a big hit from Paasi and Burr, but the referee rules it a strip. Replays strongly suggest otherwise. GC point to the posts and take an easy two points to edge back in front (GC 14-12).

63 mins - Hebert with a powerful run, Copley looks to have stripped the ball among three tacklers but the touch judge calls it a knock-on. Rough. Titans go again, tackle three 20m out...

61 mins - Roberts with a well-placed kick for the chasing pack, plenty of jumpers contesting, ball spills into the in-goal and Jacks rushes through to dot it down. Ref goes upstairs, replays suggest this came off an NZ player... but Mr Bunker wants to stick with the on-field call of no try. May have got away with one there, NZ.

60 mins - Hectic pace to this one, some of the forwards to starting to blow.

59 mins - Green hoists a bomb into the corner, plenty of chasers but Don is up to the task.

58 mins - Nikorima hustles back to clean up the grubber then swoops onto attack, finds Maumalo for good metres. Nikorima again, picks up 10m with the defence guessing.

56 mins - Tevaga with another mistake to put his side under pressure, trying to offload in traffic. Titans feed the scrum 40m out...

55 mins - Well placed bomb into the corner, Don leaps but spills it forward. NZ look to work it out of their own danger zone.

53 mins - RTS dances out of dummy half, gains 15m. NZ look disorganised on the last tackle, ends with a Herbert grubber into touch a metre out from the GC line.

52 mins - Rein springs from dummy half from a metre out and he's knocked on in the tackle. NZ survive again.

51 mins - Green's clearing kick is right on the money, Brimson trapped 10m out from his line. Penlaty two tackles later undoes all the good work, GC launch from the NZ 10m...

50 mins - NZ defence holds out, great effort to keep the line clean on the back of multiple defensive sets.

49 mins - Roberts rolls in another well-weighted grubber, Hiku cleans up. Another six on the way for GC.

47 mins - Roberts with a pinpoint grubber, Fusitu'a forced to run it dead. Six more coming up for GC. Short kickoff is not a good one, GC tackle two 10m out...

46 mins - Tevaga throws a terrible offload in his own half, GC right back on the attack. 10m out on tackle three...

45 mins - GC threaten but a fantastic cover tackle from Green gets Copley's boot over the sideline to kill the movement.

44 mins - Cartwright with a deft offload to free Arthars on the right edge. Penalty GC at the NZ 20m. Dangertime for the visitors...

43 mins - Nikorima puts Hiku into some space, beats one but his offload in the tackle is poor and Papali'i can't reel it tin. GC scrum at their own 40m.

42 mins - Great defence Tevaga, puts a ton of pressure on the kicker and NZ return past halfway.

41 mins - NZ receive the kick-off and we're back into it at Robina Stadium.

Second half underway...

HALFTIME - The momentum with the Titans as we head to the interval. Seems like we're in for a close one.

40 mins - Nikorima keen to have a dabble as the half winds down. Nothing doing, and that will send us to the sheds.

39 mins - Dangerous grubber from GC, RTS can't regather as it bounces awkwardly over the upright padding. Hands aplenty but it's dead in-goal. In the end, we'll have a scrum to NZ 20m out from their line.

38 mins - RTS makes a blinder of a catch under the bomb. Green kicks on the last, right down the middle and the throat of Brimson.

37 mins - Luke clears on the fifth. GC take tackle three near halfway.

35 mins - Luke steps up to blast the shot over from right in front to level the scores. (12-12)

34 mins - Burr is put into a big hole, desperation tackle nabs him metres short and his offload is touched by GC. NZ penalty with advantage being played. Bit of a push and shove between both sides after that sequence, many a jersey pulled.

33 mins - Kelly fumbles a poor pass from Rein. NZ scrum, and a strong RTS run is back up by another from Herbert. Nikorima wrapped up 20m out...

32 mins - Completed sets in both directions. Titans forwards owning the middle third of the field thus far.

30 mins - Dangerous tackle from GC, NZ penalty sees them take tackle on at their own 40m. Nikorima grubbers on the last across the face of the posts, Brimson cleans up.

29 mins - GC positively rolling now, back inside the NZ half on just tackle four. NZ defenders looking tried already, line speed has clearly slowed.

26 mins - TRY TITANS - GC out-Warrior the Warriors, keeping the ball alive with some audacious flicks to eventually find a huge overlap to the left, and Brian Kelly - the centre who started the movement earlier in the count - strolls in to score. Roberts curls the conversion over from wide, and GC take their first lead. (GC 12-10)

25 mins - Titans begin to throw the ball around with confidence, big 40m gain puts them right back on attack...

23 mins - TRY TITANS - Simple second-man play sees a gaping hole open in the NZ defence, and Ryley Jacks simply pins his ears back and stretches out in the tackle to score. Too easy. Roberts completes the conversion. (NZ 10-6)

22 mins - Penalty late in the tackle count for GC. They'll launch a raid from the NZ 300m now...

21 mins - Lawton continues to be a handful, fends one and takes the 3rd at the GC 300m. 60m gain ends with Green hoisting another bomb, Brimson is taken just in front of his posts.

19 mins - Titans with space, Don steals 15m on the attack. Set ends with a harmless, and somewhat disappointing, grubber into touch.

18 mins - NZ reel off five tackles, Green with a handy touchfinder for the GC scrum on their own 20m. Big defence from NZ, pinning them back early in the tackle count.

16 mins - Green bombs, Don underneath that one comfortably. Solid set ends with Roberts finding touch a metre from the NZ line.

14 mins - Compled sets both ways from the restart. RTS finds Maumalo after the kick reception and they take tackle three at the 300m.

12 mins - TRY WARRIORS - Another GC mistake results in another NZ try. Nikorima links with RTS, who shimmies to his outside to create some space for Maumalo, who dives and dot down in the corner. Nikorima hits the post on the conversion. (NZ 12-0)

11 mins - Scratch that, they feed it at the 300m line. Nice touch for Adam Blair, Titans.

10 mins - Nikorima snifs half a gap, dies with the football on the last. GC go wide and look to have an overlap but the final pass is called forward. Looked line at worst, but NZ will feed the scrum 30m out.

8 mins - Excellent set from NZ, clearing kick collected at the GC 20m.

7 mins - GC with a 40m gain on the reply, RTS again up to the task on the high ball on the last.

6 mins - NZ defence holds firm, fifth tackle kick rebounds into RTS' hands and danger is averted.

5 mins - Maumalo fumbles in the tackle on the restart and the Titans will have a chance to immediately respond, 30m out from the NZ line.

3 mins - TRY WARRIORS - Karl Lawton explodes out of dummy half from centimetres shy, shows great strength to muscle the ball through and graze the chalk. Nikorima slots an easy conversion. (NZ 6-0)

3 mins - Nikorima threatens, spins away from one and offloads to Harris to take the tackle. Paasi at express pace at first receiver, brought down inches short.

2 mins - Penalty to NZ, too much in the tackle there. Great early chance for the visitors. They'll take tackle one inside the Titans 20m...

1 min - Titans receive first. 34m on the first set, as Roberts kicks deep to Maumalo to cart it back as far as the NZ 20m.

We're underway...

7:59pm - Both sides huddle for a moment's silence for Kiwi and former Titan Zaye Wallace, who tragically passed away due to complications from an infection. The teams will contest the Zaye Wallace Memorial Shield this evening.

7:57pm - Nice moment as Mr 300, Adam Blair, leads the team out with his two kids, huge smile on his dial. Now to celebrate with a win...

Pre-match banter:

Blair joins 300 club against Titans

Forward Adam Blair will celebrate his 300th NRL game when the Warriors take on the Gold Coast Titans on Friday night.

Blair will become the fifth Warriors player to achieve the feat when the teams run out at Robina Stadium - alongside Ruben Wiki, Steve Price, Simon Mannering, and Ryan Hoffman - and just the 36th in the competition's history.

The 33-year-old made his first-grade debut in 2006 in a career that has included 121 games for Melbourne (2006-2011), 71 for Wests Tigers (2012-2014) and 74 for Brisbane (2015-2017).

There are just two changes to the starting line-up that capitulated against the Melbourne Storm last weekend, with Patrick Herbert (leg) and Jazz Tevaga (anle) returning from injury.

Tevaga will fill the vacancy created by prop Chris Satae’s one-match suspension for a dangerous contact charge.

On Tuesday, coach Stephen Kearney revealed that a group of players including Blake Green, Issac Luke, Karl Lawton had been struck down had been struck down by a bout of gastroenteritis.

But the team doctor deemed it nothing more than a 24-hour bug, and Kearney expects to have all four in action back to full strength on Friday.

The Warriors will be looking to avoid a three-game losing skid, and who better to do that against the Titans, against who they have their best winning percentage against with a 68 percent success rate.

They've won 17 of 25 encounters between the two sides, including 15 of the last 17 since 2011.

That said, the Titans emerged victorious last time the teams played at their home ground, and should be emboldened by an upset win over their rival Brisbane Broncos on Sunday.
