Steven Adams named to Forbes' athlete Rich List

Kiwi basketball star Steven Adams has again been named in the top 100 of Forbes' prestigious Rich List for athletes.

The Oklahoma City Thunder centre's 2018 earnings of $NZ41.3 million put him at No. 78 on the list, above the likes of five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and Liverpool star Mo Salah.

In 2018, Adams was ranked 86th.

The 2018-19 NBA season was the second in Adams' four year contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder worth $151 million.

In the 2019-20 season, his base salary was expected to increase from NZ$36.6 million to NZ$39.2 million, with a further increase in the final year of his deal.

The top three was comprised of – in order - football mega-stars Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Neymar.

Tennis great Serena Williams was the only woman to feature on the list, ranking at 63rd.
