They clear to about 30 metres and have the lineout feed, but it's untidy. Jaguares drive them back inside the 22.

Debreczeni has hobbled off with a groin injury suffered during that last kick at goal - he's replaced by Marty McKenzie.

Augustin Creevy is ruled offside and Debreczeni slots another goal.

But Weber's pass goes loose and the Jaguares clear.

36th minute: Big Chiefs scrum earns a penalty five metres out. Debreczeni slots the points to take the lead.

27th minute: TRY to Lachlan Boshier

Debreczeni quickly converts.

Jaguares clear from Retallick's knock-on, but the Chiefs regather at halfway and mount another attack. Ardron is taken off the ball, so they're playing under advantage, but they don't need it.

Weber splits the defence and finds Boshier in support - he crossed between the posts.

Ninth minute: From the scrum, Jack Debreczeni finds touch near halfway.

Seventh minute: The Chiefs are penalised for obstruction, after the Jaguares put up a high ball. The Argentinians have an attacking lineout inside the Chiefs 22.

From the lineout, the Jaguares surge towards the line, but the ball is knocked on. The Chiefs can't clear though and have a defensive scrum six metres out, near the right touch.

First minute: TRY to Pablo Matera
Whoa, we've barely had time to settle into our seats and the home side have already scored.

The Jaguares kick off, but the Chiefs make a hash of clearing the ball and the hosts capitalise, with Matera driving over from a ruck on the goal-line.

The conversion is missed, but that's an early blow.

Welcome to the build-up to kick-off in Buenos Aires. Looks like a great night for footy.

Looks like Alex Nankivell has overcome his fitness concerns and will take his place in the reserves for the Chiefs.

Kia ora, good morning and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the Chiefs' Super Rugby quarter-final match against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires.

The Waikato-based side looked dead and buried early in the season, losing three of their star players along the way, but have rallied down the stretch to sneak into the top eight teams for a playoff spot.

The return of captain Sam Cane from his neck fracture seems to have inspired his team in the past month, as they produced a defensive masterclass against the Reds and then shocked the champion Crusaders in Fiji, before sealing their post-season involvement with a big road win over the Rebels.

While Damian McKenzie remains sidelined for the rest of the year, All Blacks lock Brodie Retallick has also returned from injury and suddenly the Chiefs have found a second wind.

Today, they face a Jagaures side that have been impressive all season, finishing atop a very competitive South African conference for the first time.

While some may complain that they are essentially the Argentinian national side in disguise, that scenario was inevitable once they were admitted to the competition.

They haven't lost since bowing to the Highlanders in Dunedin on May 11 - that's five wins straight.

Significantly, though, their last home loss was to the Chiefs (30-27) in March.

Join us at 10am for live updates of the Chiefs v Jaguares clash.

Pre-match - Chiefs make one change for Jaguares match

The Chiefs have made just one change to their line-up for their Super Rugby quarter-final against the Jaguares in Buenos Aires on Saturday (NZT).

Chiefs coach Colin Cooper has promoted Tumua Manu to the starting side in place of Alex Nankivell, who is under an injury cloud and will have to pass a fitness test if he is to play at all.

Nankivell sustained a knee injury during last week's 59-8 win over the Melbourne Rebels, and if he is ruled out, Ataata Moeakiola will take his spot on the bench.

All Black Anton Lienert-Brown will shift from centre to second-five to partner Manu in the Chiefs midfield.

The rest of the team is unchanged, with influential leader Sam Cane captaining the team.

The Chiefs head into the match full of confidence, having won their last three games, including a shock 40-27 win over the Crusaders and a nine-try romp over the Rebels.

"As a team, we need to draw on the confidence we have gained from our past couple of games," said Cooper.

"We are not strangers to quarter-finals rugby, we just need to stay focused, and deliver a performance our fans and whanau are proud of.

"There is plenty of energy in the team, especially from our leaders. We know the Jaguares are a quality side.

"They have performed well and we have the utmost respect for them."

The Chiefs hold the head-to-head advantage over the Jaguares, beating them twice in their three previous meetings, including a 30-27 triumph earlier this season in Argentina.
