[Please refresh browser for latest update]

New Zealand 239/8 - [Taylor 74, Williamson 67, Kumar 3/43]
India 221 all out - [Jadeja 77, Dhoni 50, Henry 3/37]
New Zealand win by 18 runs.

Wrap: Well what a boilover that was. Be honest New Zealand - we didn't believe.
What a bowling performance from the entire unit but we must first pay credit to the innings of Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson yesterday getting New Zealand to some sort of score.

Matt Henry and Trent Boult were superb at the top, dismissing Rahul, Sharma and Kohli for a run a piece. Dhoni and Jadeja recovered a pretty hopeless situation for India at 94/6, and it looked like they would get the job done.

But Matt Henry's final over went for just four runs, which put pressure on Jadeja who slogged and got out to Boult in the next over.

New Zealand heads to Lords to play England or Australia on Sunday night.

Rohit gets one to short fine-leg.

Indian innings

NZ Innings wrap: So 28 runs from 23 balls this morning - that was probably the minimum NZ were looking for. Taylor and Latham had easily grafted 13 runs from 11 balls, but fell in consecutive balls which probably cost NZ 10-15 runs. India are favourites, but if Rohit and Kohli aren't there when they reach 100, NZ are a chance.

50th over: Bumrah to bowl the final over.

Just a Santner single from the first two balls.

Two for Boult to deep mid-wicket.

Boult gets one to mid-off.

Santner gets two to mid-off.

Leg bye off the last - seven from the over.

49th over: Kumar to continue.

Wicket: Latham c Jadeja b Kumar 10 (12): Latham belts this to deep mid-wicket but Jadeja denies his six with a wonderful running catch above his head. Jadeja could have saved his side 20 runs with two great pieces of cricket.

Four for Santner through the covers - that is a superb shot, beating two boundary riders.

Wicket: Henry c Kohli b Kumar 1 (2): Henry slogs to deep mid-off but right down the throat of the Indian skipper. Biggest part of teh ground and he couldn't get the timing off a slower ball.

Seven runs, two wickets from the over.

48th over: Bumrah to bowl his 9th - 1/25.

Taylor gets another two to mid-wicket.

Latham on the paddle and gets a couple to fine leg.

Wicket: Ross Taylor run out [Jadeja] 74 (90): Direct hit from deep mid-wicket! What a throw from Jadeja - had to be a direct hit and was. Taylor scampering back for two but is inches short of his ground. NZ 225/6.

Seven and a wicket from the over.

47th over: Kumar to resume - five balls in the over remaining. Ross Taylor is on strike.

Taylor drives to deep cover for one.

Latham gets two to fine leg - great running but the throw from KL Rahul was awful.

Taylor gets two to deep mid-wicket. Well run two.

Eight from the over.

============================================================

9:27pm - Players and umpires on their way out to the Old Trafford ground.

9:14pm - Henry Nicholls on the wicket: "The conditions weren't what both sides thought," he says.

"The nature of the World Cup and the pressure has added to the [low] totals.

"Let's hope the surface keeps getting tougher and tougher for the batters.

"Certainly hope that [chasing will add some pressure]... I think our seam attack up top is so important."

9:08pm - Good news for India. Hardik Pandya is fully fit despite struggling with a hip flexer during play yesterday.

8:50pm - Hello folks - play looks set to resume on time at 9:30pm. Skies are blue and it's warmer than yesterday - rain is forecast for about 2pm, but by then India would have batted 20 overs, so we should get an on-field result today.

=============================================================

Kia ora, good evening and welcome to Newhub's continued coverage of the Cricket World Cup semi-final between New Zealand and India at Edgbaston.

You may recall, attempts to get this fixture played on Tuesday night (NZT) were frustrated by rain in Manchester, so we'll take another shot at it tonight.

New Zealand will resume on 211/5 with just 23 balls left in their innings, and Ross Taylor and Tom Latham at the crease.

Weather gods allowing, they will finish their innings, before India begin their chase.

Pre-match: Will rain hamper World Cup reserve day?

Persistent rain has stalled the Blackcaps' Cricket World Cup semi-final against India, sending the match into a reserve day.

New Zealand reached 211/5 from 46.1 overs at Old Trafford in Manchester before rain forced the players from the field at 2pm local time (1am NZ time).

The rain was not heavy, but it was consistent enough to delay play, with the umpires deciding at 6:25pm local time that no further action would be possible.

The decision means New Zealand will resume their innings at 10:30am local time (9:30pm NZ time) on Wednesday and India will have the full 50 overs to chase.

Newshub's Europe correspondent Lloyd Burr says there is a 10 percent chance of rain on the reserve day, but as we saw in the build-up to the semi-final, the weather can change very quickly.

"At the moment, the weather forecast is pretty good," Burr told The AM Show. "It's going to be cloudy and overcast, but the chance of rain is about 10 percent for most of the day, so it will be much better than today.

"Today has been on and off. It rains and then stops, so the covers keep coming on and off.

"It has rained all over the cricketing party today, but they'll kick off from where they paused, so New Zealand will face their 23 balls, then have a break before India bats."

But BBC weatherman Gareth Harvey believes rain will play its part on the reserve day.

"We are likely to see mixed conditions at Old Trafford, with sunny intervals, but some showers, these most likely through the late morning and the early afternoon," he says.

"There should be some play, with some decent drier interludes between the showers, but interruptions are likely."

If there is rain, the match will be shortened and India will need to bat at least 20 overs for a completed match. If the game is not complete, India will advance to the final, after finishing higher in the group stage.

Ross Taylor (67no) and Tom Latham (3no) will resume batting for New Zealand when play gets underway while Bhuvneshwar Kumar (1/30) will bowl out his ninth over.
