Netball World Cup 2019: Elated Silver Ferns star Katrina Rore photobombs teammate on The AM Show

The Silver Ferns were riding a high of adrenaline and emotion after their World Cup final victory in Liverpool on Monday morning (NZT).

Few players embodied that more than veteran Katrina Rore, who couldn't help herself from making a surprise appearance during teammate Casey Kopua’s live interview with The AM Show’s host Duncan Garner.

Rore paraded behind Kopua with head and medal held proudly high, making a return trip with mouth agape before she could no longer contain her laughter.

You can understand Rore's joy when you consider the rollercoaster she's endured in the black dress in the past 18 months - from the depths of their Commonwealth Games disaster, where she burst into tears in a post-match interview, on the Gold Coast - to the unprecedented high of their triumph in England.

She also played a huge hand in the 52-51 win over Australia, clinching a critical turnover in the second quarter to establish a three-goal buffer.

"This tops the cake, it's outstanding," said Rore. "Sport has some highs and lows, and the lows are worth these highs. At the time, you don't think that, but today is a darn good day."
