Raiders fullback Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad has wasted no time earning the reputation as the "biggest gentleman" of Canberra, after a touching gesture for an ill fan.

On Tuesday, Twitter user @MichaelEugeni14 reached out to the 23-year-old, hoping to Nicoll Klokstad would sent a get-well message to young cousin Annelise, who was suffering from pneumonia.

When Nicoll-Klokstad found out Annelise was in Canberra Hospital, he wasted no time paying her a surprise visit, bringing a card and a packet of lollies with him.

"He stayed for at least an hour-and-a-half, just playing with my little cousin and also her little brother, who is Raiders mad, he left such a great impression," tweeted @MichaelEugeni14, with a photo of Nicoll-Klokstad and Annelise playing a game.

"He is the biggest gentleman I have ever come across, he then proceeded to ring me and thank me for organising it. I was lost for words and could barely speak to him because I was so gobsmacked by his kindness. You are a hero, CNK."

Annelise is now out of hospital, but is being closely monitored, as she continues to recover.

Nicoll-Klokstad is playing his first season at the Raiders, after he was released by the Warriors in February.

He already has a reputation for being generous off the field. In 2017, while contracted to the Warriors, he purchased a pair of Nike shoes for a Takiri Wikitera, a 13-year-old boy born with cerebral palsy and walking with crutches.

Wikitera's story touched Nicoll-Klokstad on a personal level, as his older brother had muscular dystrophy and passed away in 2010.

The same year, he was named Warriors Clubman of the Year and was nominated for the Ken Stephen Medal, which recognises the efforts of an NRL player who has not only achieved on the field, but has also committed time off the field to community projects.

He's also an ambassador for Physical Disability Rugby League New Zealand.

Nicoll-Klokstad has proven to be one of the buys of the NRL season, with a breakout campaign in the Raiders' number-one jersey.

In 15 games, he's scored six tries and leads the NRL in run metres (1034), all runs (276) and kick-return metres (1015).
