Pre-game chat: Issac Luke recalled for NZ Warriors against Newcastle Knights

Hooker Issac Luke will rejoin the Warriors for their clash against the Knights in Newcastle on Saturday.

After spending some time with the reserve grade side, Luke is back in the premiership fold as a replacement for the injured Nate Roache, who will play no further part in the Warriors season due to an ACL tear suffered in the loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

The 32-year-old fell out of favour with the selectors in light of some questionable performances earlier this season but will likely be a regular fixture in the first-grade side in Roache's absence.

Luke has impressed with the reserve grade side, scoring a try and registering a 117 run metres in a dominant win over the North Sydney Bears last weekend.

Second-rower Lachlan Burr will also return after missing the Panthers game with an ongoing hip issue, which shifts Leivaha Pulu to the extended bench.

The Knights waltzed to a convincing 36-18 victory in Auckland the last time the two sides met back in round eight, but this time will be without injured star fullback Kalyn Ponga.

The Warriors currently sit 11th on the NRL ladder, six points behind the fifth-placed Knights.
