The Warriors have confirmed they'll be without Nate Roache for the rest of the season, after an injury sustained in the loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

Scans have confirmed fears that the 23-year-old has suffered - as suspected - an ACL tear in his left knee and will play no further part in the team's 2019 campaign.

Roache's knee gave way as he made a 20-metre break from dummy half and attempted to sidestep Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards in the 65th minute of 19-18 loss. He's expected to be out of action for six to nine months.

The injury is the latest in a series of cruel injury blows for the promising young hooker.

After his 2017 campaign was cut short by an Achilles tear, Roache missed the entire 2018 season due to back surgery.

He was making his sixth appearance of the season last weekend and his first since being sidelined with a back complaint in the ninth-round win over St George Illawarra.

Issac Luke has been recalled to the premiership squad as Roache's replacement following a stint in reserve grade.

The Warriors now travel to Newcastle to take on the Knights on Saturday.
