NRL 2019: Warriors re-sign Jazz Tevaga on two-year deal

NZ Warriors forward Jazz Tevaga has signed a contract extension with the club until the end of the 2021 season.

The news comes on the eve of his 50th NRL appearance for the Warriors, when they face the Cronulla Sharks in Wellington on Friday.

The 23-year old has been a bright spot for the Warriors this season, highlighted by his 72-tackle effort in the 18-18 draw against the Brisbane Broncos last weekend.

He was named Interchange Player of the Year at the 2018 Dally M awards and has built his reputation as an interchange utility, as he can cover hooker, lock and second row.

"We're thrilled to have Jazz signed for two more seasons," said Warriors head coach Stephen Kearney. "He brings so much to our group with his energy on and off the field.

"He isn't the biggest forward going around by a long way, but that doesn't bother him. What he offers is intensity and enthusiasm, either starting or coming off the bench.

"He certainly gives us tremendous value and it's wonderful having him around the club."

Tevaga, who made his debut in 2016, will start in the 13 jersey against the Sharks.
