Rugby: 'All-access' Dan Carter documentary set for release

A feature-length documentary film on All Blacks great Dan Carter is set to hit cinemas later this month.

Dan Carter: A Perfect 10 will make its world premiere on August 29, before a nationwide release the following day.

The all-access film promises an unparalleled level of access to the three-time World Rugby Player of the Year, revealing "a side to the global superstar that's never been seen before".

Directed by Luke Mellows, it tracks Carter's rise from the back blocks of Canterbury to arguably the greatest first-five of all time.

Carter was part of two World Cup-winning All Blacks sides and set a record for points scored for New Zealand through a sparkling 112-test career.

The documentary features interviews with the likes of teammates Richie McCaw and Beauden Barrett, and England counterpart Jonny Wilkinson, as well as wife and former hockey international Honor Carter.

It will screen in cinemas across the country from August 29.
