The AM Show host Duncan Garner baffled by 'truly odd' World Gravy Wrestling Championships in UK

One of the most unusual events on the weird sporting calendar; a big crowd turned out to watch the World Gravy Wrestling Championships in the UK this week - baffling The AM Show host Duncan Garner.

Competitors get down and dirty in a massive puddle of gravy - 20,000 gallons of Lancashire gravy to be exact.

Garner appeared baffled that such a sport exists, describing it as "truly odd".

"That's truly delusional - wrestling in gravy?" he said.

Beginning in 2007, the event has raised nearly NZ$58,000 for various charities, including East Lancashire Hospital, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Joel Hicks wrestled in the mirk for two minutes to retain his crown, while Skye Penty claimed the top prize for the ladies.
