Kiwi centre Steven Adams saw 25 minutes of court time as the Oklahoma City Thunder crushed the Golden State Warriors 120-92 to secure their first win of the 2019/20 NBA season.

Having lost their first two games of the season to the Utah Jazz and Washington Wizards, the Thunder were desperate to bounce back, and they did that in front of their home fans.

Adams' quiet start to the season continued as he chipped in with eight points, and nine rebounds, but after a rampant start, the Kiwi didn't get much court time in the second half.

That is because the Thunder dominated last year's finalist from start to finish as they equalled their largest margin of victory over the Warriors since the franchise moved from Seattle before the 2008-09 season.

The game was effectively over at halftime with the Thunder leading 70-37. The Warriors' 33-point halftime deficit was their worst since March 1997.

Guard Dennis Schroder led the Thunder with 22 points, while counterpart Stephen Curry had 23 for the Warriors, who are winless in their opening two games.

The Thunder are back in action on Tuesday where they'll meet the Houston Rockets. It will be the first time they'll face off against Russell Westbrook since he left the organization during the offseason.
