Rugby: Doubt over Nehe Milner-Skudder's move to Toulon

Toulon has denied reports that former All Black Nehe Milner-Skudder's contract will be torn up, due to ongoing shoulder complications.

French sports publication L'Equipe claims Toulon wanted to cut Milner-Skudder from its roster, as he continued to overcome a shoulder injury.

The L'Equipe report adds, if Toulon rip up the Milner-Skudder deal, it will free up funds to make a bumper offer to Wales star Liam Williams.

But Toulon deny those claims saying, Milner-Skudder will join the club next month.

"Following the article published today on the website lequipe.fr, Rugby Club Toulonnais said the contract with Nehe Milner-Skudder has been signed and approved by the National Rugby League," said a release from Toulon.

"The versatile three-quarter New Zealand will join Toulon and the Red and Black group in December."

Milner-Skudder has not played since November 3 last year, when the All Blacks beat Japan 69-31, and underwent shoulder surgery in June, due to complications arising from an earlier procedure.

Earlier this year, Milner-Skudder told Newhsub he'd seen a psychologist to help him deal with his setbacks.

"It was bloody tough - my first shoulder [injury], I just broke down. I was just crying when I found out in the medical room.

"That gave me the tools and strategies for how to deal with things. It helped me realise that it's part of the game.

"You go through injuries, and part of life is you have setbacks, but it's about how you deal with it, reframe the way you look at things and put things into perspective.

"That helped massively for me moving forward and with helping others going through the same thing."
