Kiwi Michael Venus and his South African partner Raven Klaasen have qualified for the final of the ATP Finals in London.

The pair beat new world number one pairing Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah of Columbia in three sets, winning, 6-7(5), 7-6(10), 10-6 in 2h, 9m at the O2 Arena.

After losing the first set, and trailing 4-0 in the second, Venus and Klaasen showed great mental strength as they saved two match points to force a decider.

Cabal and Farah couldn't recover from blowing a big lead in the second set tie-break as Klaasen and Venus cruised past to make their maiden team final at the event.

The Columbian pair were responsible for eliminating Venus and Klassen from last year's event.

"We've had a couple of close losses to these guys this year, including the semi-finals at Wimbledon, so it was great beating them on this stage," Venus told Newshub.

"We spoke and said 'this is the end of the year, let's leave it all out there and play with as much energy as possible'.

"We stayed positive, fought back, and it paid off. It shows the level we're playing at right now."

They will face 2018 runners-up  Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut of France in the final.
