America's Cup 2021: 'A little whoopsie' - Team NZ capsize new boat

Team New Zealand became the first team to capsize their AC75 yacht during a training incident on Auckland's Waitemata Harbour.

On Thursday, the team posted a video on their Facebook page, showing 'Te Aihe' falling over after a big nosedive.

The defenders described it as "a little whoopsie" and "part of the learning."

"A little whoopsie on the Waitemata, upright again and all OK. All part of learning," Team NZ said on their social media pages.

They also shared photos of their yacht lying on its side on the water.

The incident happened in the shadow of North Head in about 10 knots of south-west breeze.

They managed to get the boat upright and continued their training session as if nothing happened. They were seen sailing towards Auckland's North Shore.

None of the crew members were injured in the incident.
