The Auckland Tuatara have defeated the Sydney Blue Sox 6-4 to complete their first-ever ABL series sweep.
The win at North Harbour Stadium on Sunday put the icing on the team's third consecutive series victory and wrapped up a flawless four-game weekend.
The club’s seventh-straight win moved them two games clear of the Blue Sox in first place of the league's Northeast Division.
The hosts flew out of the gates with a three-run first inning, before the Sydneysiders tied the game with back-to-back home runs in the fourth.
But the Tuatara maintained their composure and blasted another three runs in the bottom of the sixth to seal the win.
Manager Steve Mintz heaped praise on his team for ensuring there was no complacency against a strong Sydney outfit.
"We did a great job this series," said Mintz. "Sydney are a really good ball club and we had to work hard. There wasn’t much between the two teams in each of the four games but we managed to win the big moments.”
The Tuatara now head to Adelaide to face the Giants next week , before returning home to begin 2020 with a series against Geelong Korea.
