The NZ Warriors have reportedly won the race for the signature of promising Melbourne Storm youngster Tino Fa'asuamaleaui.

According to Stuff, the club has agreed to terms for the 19-year-old prop, although - with his contract in Melbourne running through 2020 - he'd still need to secure an early release to appear for the Auckland outfit next season.

Fa'asuamaleaui only played five games in his rookie campaign, but did enough to attract suitors from across the NRL, all eager to recruit a player many regard as NRL's next powerhouse front-rower.

At 1.97m, 115kg, Fa'asuamaleaui would go a long way to solving some of the Warriors' issues up front, where they were consistently overpowered by opposition packs last season.

The four-year deal is reported to be about $700,000 per season, although the Storm are also attempting to extend his contract.

Hooker Wayde Egan is the Warriors' only new signing so far this off-season.
