Blackcaps defend Tim Southee despite another 'super over' failure

The Blackcaps are adamant Tim Southee is still their go-to bowler in a 'super over' despite losing their second in as many days.

Once again, the Blackcaps threw away a golden chance to win the game in regulation and are now in danger of losing the series 5-0 in Mt Maunganui on Sunday.

Southee's now bowled six super overs and won only one of them.

"He's used to high-pressure situations," said Blackcaps assistant coach Luke Ronchi. "And  we're more confident with Timmy going forward. But hopefully we don't get to that point again."

In the super over, the Blackcaps mustered 13 and India came home with a ball to spare.

"To be in that position again was frustrating," said bowler Ish Sodhi. "But we have done it a few times. So, it was an interesting one."
