Blackcaps v India: Ish Sodhi, Blair Tickner called into NZ squad as illness cover

Bowlers Ish Sohdi and Blair Tickner have been called into the Blackcaps one-day squad for their final match against India in Mt Maunganui on Tuesday.

Leg-spinner Sodhi and paceman Tickner have withdrawn from the New Zealand 'A' side for the final day of their match against India 'A' in Christchurch, with three Blackcaps front-liners currently battling illness.

Scott Kuggeleijn (viral), Mitchell Santner and Tim Southee (both gastro) are all in doubt for the final ODI, while regular captain Kane Williamson continues to battle a left shoulder injury.

Kuggeleijn and Santner both missed New Zealand's series-clinching 22-run win over India on Saturday with their illnesses, while Southee battled through his bug, taking 2/41.

Williamson missed the last two T20s of the preceding five-match series and the first two ODIs with his injury.

Sodhi and Tickner were both part of the Twenty20 squad wept 5-0 by India.

After the ODI series, the Blackcaps will play India in two tests, starting on February 21 in Wellington.
