Snowboarding: Zoi Sadowski-Synnott wins X Games slopestyle gold in Norway

Kiwi snowboarding sensation Zoi Sadowski-Synnott has won gold in the women's slopestyle at the X Games in Norway on Monday (NZ time).

The 19-year-old claimed the third X Games medal of her career after an impressive first run on the slopes of Hafjell Alpinsenter.

The Wanaka teen showed technical prowess in the rails at the top of the course with tricks including a backside 180 sameway and boardslide pretzel.

She finished off her run with a big backside 720 and frontside 720 to go top after run one and she never gave it up.

Japan's Kokomo Murase won silver and Canada's Brooke Voigt earned her first X Games medal with bronze.

Last year, Sadowski-Synnott created history by becoming New Zealand's first snowboarding X Games gold medallist when she won the slopestyle event in Aspen, Colorado.

Earlier in the tournament, she finished sixth in the big air, the discipline she won Olympic bronze in.
