NFL resorts to 'virtual draft' during coronavirus

The NFL Draft is usually one of the greatest shows in American sport.

Dreams are made for the next American football superstar in front of thousands of people. But like everything sports-related at the moment, that's been shut down.

Instead, the 2020 edition will always be remembered as the 'virtual draft', conducted via stream from the commissioners basement using hundreds of video links to prospects and their families. 

While the coverage was unique, there was still plenty of emotion on display, as the next wave of superstars were picked up by their new teams. 

Coaches and general managers selected the future of their franchises via video calls from their homes.

The typical American glitz and glam may've been missing, but for this next generation of superstars, it didn't matter one bit.
