UFC: Israel Adesanya can't wait to return to gym, see friends when lockdown lifts

Kiwi UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya claims he's coping well during the coronavirus lockdown, but can't wait to get back to the gym to see the rest of his City Kickboxing crew.

Adesanya has done his best to keep fit during the nationwide lockdown, but it's not quite the same from the comfort of your own home.

The 30-year-old has been doing body-weight workouts, some cardio and even had a little tussle with a flatmate to remain in peak condition for when the UFC returns.

Speaking to The Project, Adesanya said he missed the "team spirit" around the gym.

"I'm coping well, I haven't been bored yet," he says. "I've been taking the time to take a chill pill like the rest of the world.

"The first thing I'll do is go to the gym, not even to work out, but to see my friends. I miss the team spirit.

"Although, I will hang back for a few days to see if the air is clear."
