NRL 2020: Dallin Watene-Zelezniak produces hit of the year on Matt Moylan

Kiwis captain Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has produced arguably the biggest hit of the year, on Matt Moylan during the Canterbury Bulldogs' clash against the Cronulla Sharks.

Midway through the second half, Bulldogs centre Watene-Zelezniak lined up Sharks fullback Moylan and sent him flying to the ground with a monstrous tackle.

Moylan had barely caught the ball when Watene-Zelezniak came rushing in to produce the big hit.

"Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has knocked Moylan back to the Sutherland Shire," Fox Sports commentator Matt Russell said.

"He bounces straight back up amazingly. What contact! Absolutely brutal!"

The impact was so severe Moylan had to go off for a head injury assessment, which he eventually passed and returned to the field 15 minutes later.

Moylan, playing his first game in a fortnight, saw the funny side of the tackle after the game.

"I think I've got a sunken chest now," Moylan said on the Matty Johns Show. "It would have knocked a few of my hairs out."

Moylan did get the last laugh though as the Sharks secured their second win of the season, with a 20-18 triumph. Sione Katoa claimed his first career hat-trick, while Shaun Johnson and Chad Townsend also had two try assists each.

Earlier, the Manly Sea Eagles overcame the loss of three key players as they beat the Canberra Raiders 14-6 at Campbelltown Stadium.

Within the first five minutes, the Sea Eagles lost Dylan Walker and Brad Parker to injuries, before losing key fullback Tom Trbojevic in the second half.

Coach Des Hasler has been involved in more than 500 games for the Sea Eagles, and described it as "one of the best wins I've seen in a maroon and white jersey, especially against a quality side like Canberra".

"Wins like that build seasons. It's one of those games where you lose three players and you hang in there, you want to walk away with the points. It was plenty of guts shown and they hung in for each other."
