NRL 2020: Gold Coast Titans stun Brisbane Broncos, North Queensland Cowboys cruise against Newcastle Knights

The Gold Coast Titans have stunned the Brisbane Broncos 30-12 at Suncorp Stadium.

The Broncos were booed off their own ground at halftime, after finding themselves in a 22-0 hole, as the Titans raced to an early advantage behind some strong play by halfback Ash Taylor.

In the second half, Brisbane ran in a two quick tries to  Ben Te'o and Herbie Farnworth to add some intrigue to the contest.

But Gold Coast wing Phillip Sami scored a sensational try in the corner to ut the nail in the Broncos' coffin.

Earlier, the North Queensland Cowboys were too strong for the Newcastle Knights, leading from start to finish in a 32-20 win.

With Michael Morgan and Valentine Holmes sidelined, experienced forwards Jason Taumalolo and Josh McGuire were ruthless up front against the favoured Knights' pack in Townsville.

Taumalolo in particular was immense, celebrating his 100th NRL win with 264 metres from 24 runs, 96 post-contact metres and 27 tackles.
