Young netball star Grace Nweke has proved her class, leading Northern Mystics to a 47-42 ANZ Premiership win over Mainland Tactix.

The victory has lifted the Auckland side to the top of the competition ladder, above the unbeaten Central Pulse.

Teenager Nweke landed 38 goals from 40 attempts, recording a perfect shooting percentage for the first 38 minutes of the match.

The 18-year-old was backed up admirably by shooting partner Savior Tui, who landed eight from 12 inside the circle.

The Tactix threatened an upset throughout the clash, leading at various times, but the Mystics pulled clear towards the end of the third quarter.

Tactix shooter Ellie Bird was excellent for her side, landing 26 from 29.

The Mystics could lose top spot back to the Pulse, who play consecutively on Saturday and Sunday against Southern Steel and Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic respectively.
