Netball: Stalemate dents Mainland Tactix playoff push in ANZ Premiership

The ANZ Premiership has seen its second draw in a week, after Mainland Tactix and Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic couldn't be separated in Auckland.

The two clubs drew 46-all, seven days after the Magic's thriller with the Northern Stars - the competition's first-ever tie - which ended in the same score.

Looking for their second win of the season, the Magic held a two-goal lead heading into the final quarter, but the playoff-chasing Tactix were able to reel them in and lead with seconds to play.

But a final-play goal from Magic shooter Abigail Latu-Meafou tied the score and ensured a stalemate.

The result is a poor one for the Tactix, who are now in fourth spot - a point behind third-placed Northern Stars.

Undefeated Central Pulse (24) lead the standings from Northern Mystics (17), Stars (16), Tactix (15), Magic (9) and Steel (6).

Only the top three teams qualify for playoffs.

Mainland Tactix 46 (Bird 30/35, Selby-Rickit 14/17, Prosser 2/6) Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic 46 (Latu-Meafou 23/27, McPhee 23/29)
