NRL 2020: NZ Warriors loan duo Daniel Alvaro, George Jennings banned from playing against Parramatta Eels

Loan players Daniel Alvaro and George Jennings won't take the field for NZ Warriors against their parent club, the Parramatta Eels, next weekend.

Since joining the Auckland-based NRL club in late July, the duo have made strong on-field contributions, particularly Jennings, who has crossed for two tries.

But on Sunday, the Eels confirmed that, as per their loan agreement, neither are permitted to play in what shapes as a must-win match for the Warriors on Sunday.

"The agreement with the Warriors is a temporary arrangement," the club says on its website.

"With both George and Daniel considered to be part of the Eels 2020 squad, they can be recalled at any time."

Alvaro and Jennings were originally scheduled to return to the Sydney side after the Warriors' round 15 win over Canterbury Bulldogs.

But in conjunction with the NRL, the Eels agreed to extend their stay. That arrangement will be reviewed after next Sunday's game.

On Friday, the third-placed Eels suffered a heavy 38-0 defeat to South Sydney Rabbitohs, while the Warriors kept their playoff hopes alive with a 36-6 demolition of Newcastle Knights.
