Julian Savea has revealed he wants to extend his rugby stay in the capital.
After returning from France, the former All Black has joined his old team - the Hurricanes - on a short-term deal until the end of Super Rugby Aotearoa.
"My mentality is to put my best foot forward," Savea said on Monday.
"[I want to] show what I've still got and I'm pretty keen to stay here."
But time is running out for "The Bus", who only linked back up with the franchise last week.
"I'm fortunate and grateful to be back here, even if it's for two weeks, I'm going to make the most of it."
Savea was a menace during his first stint in the black and yellow jersey and the Hurricanes are keeping an open mind in regards to his future aspirations.
"If he gets to play this week or next week, or if he gets a contract next year, the best thing he can do is come out here all guns blazing and see what happens," said Hurricanes assistant coach Cory Jane.
Head coach Jason Holland has already indicated the barnstorming winger won't play when the Hurricanes return to Super Rugby Aotearoa this week against the Chiefs this weekend.
That means next week's campaign finale against the Highlanders will be his first and only chance to impress.
Savea remains hopeful and so too Hurricanes fans, craving for "The Bus" to terrorise defences in years to come.
