Fulltime

Warriors (Hiku 2 tries; Harris-Tavita conversion & 2 penalties) Raiders (Croker, Young, Cotric & Valemei 2 tries; Croker 2 conversions & penalty)

40th minute: Young throws a late offload on the last tackle, but Crocker has nowhere to go and dies with the ball.

Warriors can't make any ground, as the final siren sounds on a game that could have gone either way, but for a couple of stray passes from the Warriors.

39th minute: Canberra reach halfway and mount another attack. Rapana and Cotric combine out right again.

38th minute: Harris-Tavita kicks across to Pompey's wing and he takes Croker out in mid-air. He's penalised, the call is challenged, but overruled - tough call.

37th minute: Warriors on attack, Burr offloads and Rapana is penalised for his hack at the ball, too close to Papalii's head.

Croker challenges and replays show that Rapana makes contact with Papalii's hand, but the challenge is ruled successful - weird.

36th minute: Wighton kicks high, but it drifts over the sideline on the full, as this game starts to wind down.

35th minute: Tevaga has failed an HIA, so he won't return either.

33rd minute: TRY to Cotric

Tapine spins over halfway for Canberra and when the ball moves right, Rapan and Cotric have only Hiku to beat. Rapana draws the defender expertly and sends Cotric into the corner.

Crocker hasn't had a great day with the boot and misses another conversion.

31st minute: Raiders are hot on attack, but Starling's grubber on the last is smothered on the Warriors line.

30th minute: Raiders earn another penalty in the Warriors half - Burr has hit Sutton high too.

29th minute: Warriors surge over halfway, but Cotric fields Harri-Tavit's high kick safely. Valemei cops a head-high tackle from Murchie, but to be fair, the Raiders winger was slipping to ground, so it wan't that high

Valemei leaves the field.

28th minute: Wighton's pass to Bateman arrives at the same time as Egan's tackle and Warriors win a scrum from the knock-on.

26th minute: Bateman eludes Papalii and Nicoll-Klokstad kicks to the goal-line, where Hiku gathers and is driven back for a dropout.

Replays focus on Papalii's late no-arms tackle on Nicoll-Klokstad and Raiders take a penalty tap.

25th minute: Hiku kicks a torpedo on the last and it finds grass - magnificent kick. Raiders eventually bring it back.

24th minute: Raiders gain halfway early in their count. Wighton bombs on the last, but Pompey leaps high to gather.

23rd minute: Ball comes right from the Warriors, but Hiku can't offload. When the ball goes left and comes back, Hiku waltzes through a gap to the tryline.

Replays show Murchie has run interference, so no try.

22nd minute: Nikorima makes a half-break and the Warriors make halfway. Rapana strips the ball from Papalii, but ref rules there were two in the tackle.

21st minute: Nicoll-Klokstad makes a long run up the middle, but again Whitehead's final pass goes behind Cotric and over the touchline. Credit Isaiah Papalii for a smashing tackle on Whitehead, who is receiving treatement for his ribs.

RTS is gone with a hamstring injury, so he won't play next week - his season is over and perhaps his time with the Warriors, if you believe reports.

Whitehead returns to the defensive line for a Warriors scrum.

20th minute: Warriors are over halfway, Harris-Tavita bombs, Nicoll-Klokstad spills it backwards and regathers second attempt.

19th minute: Canberra is on attack again, but as the ball comes right, the last pass is off balance and Cotric can't pull it in. RTS is down with a leg injury and will leave the field.

18th minute: Warriors trying to find a way through the defence, but a late offload from Harris-Tavita to Egan goes loose and Raiders take possession.

16th minute: Raiders surge into the Warriors half and Starling takes a gap, but his pass to Young goes loose and Warriors recover.

14th minute: Warriors are penalised for a tackle on Lui near the line and Croker will line up a kick at goal. He doesn't miss from dead in from and Raiders lead is now 22-14.

13th minute: Egan's kickoff goes dead, so Raiders have a penalty at halfway. Tom Ale makes his Warriors debut.

11th minute: TRY to Valemei

Whitehead finds Rapana and when the ball moves left, Croker releases his winger, who overpowers Hiku to score. That's the second time a 50-50 pass from the Warriors has been taken length of the field for a try against.

Croker misses his conversion.

10th minute: Physio applies a roll of tape to Bateman's elbow. Meanwhile, Warriors have earned another line dropout and are still on attack.

They get a set restart 10m out. Curran tries to back his way over, but Whitehead intercepts an RTS offload and charges up field.

Eighth minute: Bateman reels away from a tackle on Curran and Warriors surge forward.

Seventh minute: Wighton kicks long again and finds touch 10m out from the Warriors goal-line.

Sixth minute: Warriors still on attack, Keighran slips over, Harris drives towards the posts, but Murchie dies with the ball.

Fourth minute: RTS splits the Raiders defence and when the ball goes right, Pompey kicks ahead. Nicoll-Klokstad bats the ball back past Valemei, but it dribbles dead for a dropout.

Third minute: On the last, Harris-Tavita grubbers toward the line, but Valemei gathers safely.

Wighton kicks long on the last, the ball bounces into the ingoal and Pompey is forced to run it out.

Second minute: Warriors over halfway, ball spreads right, but goes straight through Hiku's hands, Raiders dive on the ball, but cough it up with a loose offload.

First minute: Raiders kick off, RTS fields and Blair takes the first hit-up of the second half.

Halftime

40th minute: Warriors mounting an attack, Blair offloads to Nikorima, but his speculator pass is knocked on by Murchie, as the first half ends. Phew!

39th minute: Warriors kickoff goes to Wighton, who spills it forward. Luckily, he has a foot in goal, which means a Raiders dropout.

Harris can't take the dropout cleanly, but it's ruled a knock back.

37th minute: TRY to Young

Whitehead runs on the last and kicks ahead. The ball rebounds off RTS' shins, Whitehead regathers and kicks to the centre, where Young juggles before scoring - great try and Wighton still hasn't rejoined the game.

Crocker converts and somehow the short-handed Raiders lead 16-14.

35th minute: Young takes a half gap to put the Warriors under pressure. As the ball comes left, Croker flings a low touch-pass to Valemei, but he can't handle that and the ball dribbles into touch.

34th minute: Rapana takes the kickoff and Papalii is stopped in his tracks. Raiders get a set restart.

32nd minute: TRY to Valemei

Warriors are knocking on the door again, but Tevaga flings an offload over his shoulder that goes to ground and Valemei swoops, running the length of the field to score. Crocker's conversion drifts across the posts.

31st minute: Murchie runs on the last and is tackled just short of the line. He flicks an offload that's deflected by a Canberra defender and then gathered by Tapine in an offside position - penalty.

30th minute: RTS field the kickoff and Blair reaches halfway on the third tackle.

29th minute: TRY to Hiku

Nikorima brings the ball right and smuggles a delightful no-look shot pass to Hiku, who spins through the tackle of Harawira-Naera to plunge over. Harris-Tavita bounces his conversion off the upright and out.

28th minute: From the penalty, Warriors get a set restart as well. Blair is held up over the line and Raiders are penalised for offside - Wighton is marched for 10 minutes.

Warriors must score from here.

27th minute: Croker has passed his HIA and awaits his boarding card. Warriors field the kickoff and charge upfield.

Papalii is penalised for pulling Harris' hair in a tackle - he's living dangerously.

25th minute: From the 10m scrum, Rapana rumbles upfield, but the action remains at the 10, where Papalii and Burr have clashed, and the two teams join in.

Josh Papalii is called out by the ref and Warriors get a penalty. Burr also gets a warning, but Bateman may have been the culprit in all of that.

Harris-Tavita lines up another shot at goal and slots it from in front, 10-6 Warriors.

24th minute: Nikorima kicks to the corner and the ball bounces sideways into touch, just before the corner flag.

23rd minute: Nikorima kicks high and Valemei is safer under this one.

22nd minute: From the kickoff, Warriors make ground towards halfway, which Lawton reaches.

19th minute: Hiku takes Valemei in a crunching tackle and Nikorima dives on the loose ball 20m out. White head concedes a penalty in the tackle and Harris-Tavita points to the posts.

Meanwhile, Croker has left the field too, possibly for an HIA after that RTS hit. Harris-Tavita slots the penalty to take an 8-6 lead.

18th minute: Pompey takes a high kick safely, then Katoa takes the next hit-up.

17th minute: Williams has failed his HIA, so Raiders will miss one of their top attacking weapons for the rest of the game.

15th minute: TRY to Croker

Papalii goes close for Canberra and when the ball goes left, Wighton finds Croker with a miss pass.

RTS swings an arm that contacts Croker's head, but he can't stop the try and is maybe lucky to avoid further penalty. Crocker converts to tie the scores.

14th minute: Whitehead puts up a high kick and RTS spills the ball under pressure. Hiku is pinged for touching the ball from an offside position.

13th minute: Murchie and Harris test the Raiders middle defence, before Murchie is dumped on his back. Nikorima's high kick goes loose over the line, but knocked on by Warriors.

11th minute: Raiders kick off and Burr brings the ball back. Warriors earn a penalty for offside.

10th minute: TRY to Hiku

From the scrum, RTS makes a half-break down the short side. The ball goes right and Nikorima puts a deft kick into the in-goal area, for Hiku to catch up with and score before the deadball line.

Harris-Tavita converts for a Warriors 6-0 lead.

Ninth minute: Warriors send the ball left, Harris charges towards the goal-line, Harris-Tavita kicks towards the line and Keighran appears to be taken out while chasing.

Replays show no trip and Raiders have the ball on their 10. Bateman drops the ball cold and hears all about it from the Warriors.

Eighth minute: George Williams is heading off for an HIA, after officials review a tackle, where his head slammed into the ground.

Seventh minute: Williams kicks along the ground and Perham returns the ball. He loses possession, but earns a penalty in the tackle.

Sixth minute: Warriors get a set restart and are hot on attack. RTS is dragged down, the ball shifts right, then left and eventually Harris' kick is blocked by a Raiders defender, who falls on it.

Fifth minute: Nicoll-Klokstad spots a gap 10m out on the last tackle, but he is barely tackled and dies with the ball.

Third minute: Raiders make ground down the left and as Valemei attempts to kick, his legs are taken away and Warriors punceon the loose ball.

Second minute: With their first possession, Warriors are deep inside Raiders half, Nikorima bombs, but Valemei is safe.

First minute: Warriors kick off and Papalii takes the first hit-up of the game.

Nicoll-Klokstad had a chance to force a penalty from halfway, as the kickoff flirted with the dead-ball line, but he failed to recognise that possibility and let them off the hook.

Kia ora folks and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of the NRL clash between NZ Warriors and Canberra Raiders from GIO Stadium.

The Warriors are out of playoff contention, but can finish as high as ninth with two wins, so it's important they don't let the standards they have set in the last two months drop.

The Raiders are having another fine season, winning 12 of their 18 games to sit just outside the top four in fifth.

They will need to win their final two games and hope the Eels lose next week to earn a top-four finish.

'Bonus' if Tuivasa-Sheck stays at Warriors - Brown

Incoming NZ Warriors coach Nathan Brown says captain Roger Tuivasa-Sheck staying  at the club for the 2021 NRL campaign would be a "bonus".

The Warriors' next season is filled with uncertainty, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and plans are already well underway for the team to be based at Redcliffe, Queensland.

Tuivasa-Sheck has had it the toughest out of all the Warriors players this year, as the only Kiwi-player without his family in the team's Central Coast bubble.

In July, Ken Maumalo, David Fusitu’a, Agnatius Paasi, King Vuniyayawa and Leivaha Pulu all departed the Warriors bubble to be with their families in New Zealand.

After the win over Wests Tigers last month, interim coach Todd Pyaten said Tuivasa-Sheck was "doing it tough" being away from his family, which sparked reports the fullback could make a switch to rugby union to remain close to his family.

Daily Telegraph report said NZ Rugby contacted Tuivasa-Sheck about switching to union and potentially trying to become an All Black, but he was only offered $550,000 a year - half the money he currently earns with his Warriors contract, which doesn't expire until the end of 2022.

The report adds that Tuivasa-Sheck "has been assured he can relocate his family to Redcliffe next year", which has "virtually shut the door on any code switch".

Despite that, Brown admits he isn't certain that the 2018 Dally M winner will still be with the club next season.

"I haven't had any contact with Roger for a week or so, but I'll have a chat with him next week," Brown has told Triple M.

"Where it's all at, at the moment, I don't 100 percent know, but there is a possibility Roger could be playing rugby league next year, which would obviously be a bonus for the club.

"But I also know Roger does have a desire to represent the All Blacks like many, many young Kiwi kids."

Meanwhile, Brown feels prop Addin Fonua-Blake would be a fantastic addition to the side for the 2021 NRL season.

Earlier this week, Manly Sea Eagles granted Fonua-Blake an early release from the last two years of his contract and the Tonga international wants to relocate out of Sydney with his young family.

The Warriors have reportedly offered the 24-year-old a three-year deal worth $2.5million, after missing out on the likes of Jack De Belin, David Fifita and Toby Rudolf in recent months.

"He's certainly an outstanding player, Addin," says Brown. "If you look at that position - the front-row position - he's in the top echelon of players in the world.

"He's certainly not only played some terrific footy for Manly, but he's been a big part of the Tongan success as well against Australia.

"So he's certainly a player that fits the bill, not only for our club, but for most clubs. When a player of Addin's talent comes on the market, there's always people looking to move players or do certain things, because they don't come on the market every day.

"It's very rare a player of that quality comes on the market at this time of year.

"He's certainly a player who would not only help our squad, but he'd help any squad, Addin, because he's such a high-quality player and he's only 24, so his best years are coming."

Meanwhile, the Warriors have also reportedly approached Jack Hetherington to sign with the club on a permanent deal, after Penrith Panthers permitted him to speak with rival clubs.

Hetherington played six games for the Warriors this season, on loan from the Panthers.

If the Warriors are to sign both players, they would need to clear roster space and Stuff is reporting that Adam Blair has been offered an off-field role.

Blair has an option in his favour to play next season, but the Warriors are wanting him to opt out, as they look to build for the future.
