7:42pm - Welcome to the updated coverage of the Silver Ferns clash v NZ U21. Earlier, the NZ Men completed their third win of the campaign, thumping NZ A 67-34.

The Silver Ferns come into this contest with one win, one loss record and trying to bounce back after losing to the NZ Men last night.

The Ferns will need a win tonight to make the final of the quad series tournament to be played on Saturday.

The Silver Ferns fumbled their way to a heavy defeat last night. The loss was hampered by several turnovers and a poor overall shooting percentage, as coach Dame Noeline Taurua cleared the bench, testing out combinations ahead of the upcoming series against England.

The star for the Ferns was captain Ameliaranne Ekenasio, landing 12 of her 14 attempts, but she credited the opposition for their style of play.

"We are disappointed; we got momentum in that second quarter but fell away at the end. They're an incredible team," she said post-match.

"We know this is the best game we can get to prepare for any international match, so I'm proud of all the girls but we still have a long way to go."

Live update will start at 8:00pm.
