UFC: Joaquin Buckley produces Knockout of Year contender with stunning spin-kick on Fight Island

American fighter Joaquin Buckley has scored one of the most incredible knockouts in UFC history against Impa Kasanganay at UFC Fight Island 5.

Midway through the second round of their middleweight clash, Kasanganay caught a Buckley kick. What happened next left the UFC world stunned, as Buckley landed a spinning back kick, hitting Kasanganay in the head and knocking him out cold.

Kasanganay froze when the shot landed, before crashing to the canvas, as Buckley celebrated his first UFC win, while handing his opponent a first loss.

The kick has sent the UFC world into a frenzy, with many of the sports' biggest names heralding it the Knockout of the Year.

Kiwi middleweight champion Israel Adesanya says: "That's 50 G's."

Fighters receive a $50K bonus for the Performance of the Night.

"Wow, we just witnessed the best KO of 2020," tweets middleweight star Justin Gaethje.

Former lightweight and heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier says: " I mean I’ve seen some shit in MMA, but that may be the craziest knockout ever.

"Dude got some bonus money coming his way."

According to ESPN, this is the fourth knockout in UFC history stemming from a spinning back kick to the head.
