After a sluggish first half and trailing 10-0 at the break, the Maroons came out with another level of intensity in the second stanza that the Blues couldn't match, running in three tries in a huge momentum swing to seal an upset win in the series opener.

77 mins - A few minutes left for NSW to pull out some magic. Through the backs they go, making good ground but Addo-Carr puts on a foot on the touchline after taking a pass that shouldn't have been thrown, no room to move. Maroons ball at halfway.
75 mins - TRY NSW - First attacking set of the game for NSW and finally they cross the line. Well constructed set fo six finishes with Addo-Carr soaring into the corner for his second try. Cleary from the sidleine, important conversion... and it's just wide. (18-14)
73 mins - Blues scrum on their own 10m. They have to make something happen here, quickly. Addo-Carr with space, taken at halfway. Wighton battling through tacklers, taken at the Maroons 20m. Kick fielded by Capewell, and he's forced in-goal. NSW will have another crack at the line.
70 mins - NSW moving the ball now, they haven't create a single chance in this second half. Stray pass falls to DCE. Su'a with some space on the right, fends Keary, tries the backhand flick to Gagai but the ball is out of rach and into touch. Gagai would've been in there.
66 mins - TRY QUEENSLAND - Poor offload from Tupou goes to ground near halfway, Munster is on the spot, grubbering through, regathers himself and bolts for the right corner. Cook chasing but he's able to fend him at the line and tumble over for another Maroons try. Critical conversion from the sideline for DCE... he's got it! (18-10)

19 mins - Big blow for NSW, as Boyd Cordner leaves the field after failing a head injury assessment. NSW feed a scrum, 40m out from the line.
18 mins - Maroons on attack after an NSW mistake, 20m out. Addo-Carr gets in the passing lanes and snares the intercept and possession for NSW.
16 mins - TRY NSW - Touch of fortune there for Cook, whose grubber ricochets directly back to him, he only has to spin in the tackle and fall over the line to score the first try of the series. Cleary converts. (6-0)
14 mins - NSW hold them off on their own tryline to force the handover, then immediately fumble. Maroons launch again. DCE's chip falls to Gutherson, who puts the foot down as far as his own 30m.
12 mins - Cleary under huge pressure with his last-tackle bomb, Maroons regather and they're inside the Blues 20m.
11 mins - Just 25m on the Maroons set, and NSW carry across halfway on the 3rd.
8 mins - Big Papalii run followed by a penalty. Maroons point to the posts, 20m out essentially right in front.... and DCE completely shanks it. Wow, blooper reel content right there.
6 mins - Set restart for NSW. Gagai up quickly on Tedesco, who spills the pass. Maroons scrum on their own 30m.
4 mins - Gagai sticks the fend, flicks to Coates who grubbers in field, Cook scrambles back to clean up but he's forced in-goal. Reds will have another crack. Forward pass from Papalii early in the tackle cout gives the ball back to NSW.
3 mins - Penalty NSW, they tap and go from the Maroons 30m. Maroons defence stretched but they hustle across in time to force Addo-Carr's dive for the corner into touch. No try. 20m restart for Queensland.
