Boxing: Fired-up Mark Hunt takes swing at Paul Gallen during weigh-ins

The bad blood between Mark Hunt and Paul Gallen has risen to another level ahead of their boxing match in Sydney on Wednesday night.

At Tuesday's weigh-in, Hunt fuse was lit by something said by Gallen, prompting him to lunge forward with his trademark left hook aimed in the rugby league great's direction.

After originally having claimed to be 'good mates', the war of words has intensified over the past week.

Gallen has promised to send the 'Super Samoan' into retirement, while Hunt has insisted he'll "put [Gallen's] arse to sleep".

The 39-year-old Hunt is a veteran of the kickboxing and MMA scene, but has just two boxing fights to his name.

Meanwhile, Gallen has only fought retired former sports stars such as John Hopoate.

"I'm going to fix you, man. I'm going to fix you good," Hunt said at Tuesday's presser.

"This is the next level. I haven't even boxed for 20 years and I'm still going to clean him up."
