Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko has climbed to her highest world ranking in more than a year following her fifth-place finish at the season-ending LPGA event in Florida.

But while Ko jumps seven spots to No.29, the 23-year-old is still well off the heights of her teens, when she was the number one women's golfer on the planet for close to two years.

Ko dropped out of the top ten in 2017, a few months after losing her No. 1 badge and she remains winless on the tour for over two years.

But 2020 proved a bounce-back of sorts for Ko with 11 top 10 finishes in 16 tournaments and two of those in the final two weeks of the season.

South Korean Jin-Young Ko retains her top spot to end 2021, following her dominant win in Florida, ahead of countrywoman Sei-Young Kim and Inbee Park.
