New Zealand win by an innings and 176 runs

Pak 1st innings - 297 (Azhar 93, Jamieson 5/69)
NZ 1st innings - 659/6 dec (Williamson 238, Nicholls 157, Mitchell 102no)

Pakistan 186 (Azhar 37, Jamieson 6/48)

NEW ZEALAND WIN - Boult has Zafar caught at deep square leg by Henry to wrap up an emphatic test win and NZ's place atop the ICC rankings. Click here for a full wrap and highlights.

82nd over - Boult back into the attack. It's yorker o'clock.

81st over - Southee returns to try and wrap this win up. Not this over for NZ, as Pakistan throw the kitchen sink at it. Two boundaries in the over, even a cheeky single for a bye to close.

WICKET - Williamson gets his man! His first wicket as NZ captain, Shaheen top edging for an easy catch. The skipper's five-year drought is over.

Shaheen Shah Afridi c Taylor b Williamson 7 (26b 1x4 0x6)

79th over - Shaheens pull Henry, again it falls into no man's land. He's certainly created some chances.

78th over - Williamson takes the ball and the crowd goes up! The skipper gets quickly through his work, as per. Shaheen gets some width and cuts one to the rope. Strikes Zafar on the pads deep in his own crease, huge shout! Umpire isn't interested, but there's no chance Williamson won't review this.

A second looks reveals it's struck him outside the line of off stump, no dice for the captain. Hagley sighs collectively.

76th over - Zafar nicks one off Jamieson that flies just out of Watling's reach behind the stumps, runs away for four.  Flicks one off his pads fine for four more. Not that runs really matter anymore.

75th over - Henry running in hard, as he has all day.

72nd over - WICKET - Jamieson has 11! Faheem caught by Watling attempting to drive a full one. The big dog just keeps on eating.

Faheem Ashraf c Watling b Jamieson 28 (65b 3x4 0x6)

69th over - Jamieson continues. Edge flies high into the sky, as Zafar mistimes his pull. Falls safely in between three converging fielders.

68th over - Henry in from the other end. Toiled hard, the local deserves a wicket. 0-16 off his 10 overs.

67th over - Man of the hour Jamieson will get things started, as NZ look to close this out. First ball falls just short silly mid-on's hands.

Evening session underway...

TEA BREAK - A dominant session for NZ, four wickets taken for just 65 runs, led by the magnificent Kyle Jamieson. Smart money suggests this will be over shortly.

66th over - Here we go, the trademark final over to Williamson, much to the enjoyment of the Hagley faithful. Zafar works him deep for a double. Wide one cut for two more.

65th over - Feeling very processional out there, as we head towards the tea break. This Boult over may be the last before the break. The way he's running through here, we may sneak in another.

64th over - Interesting question - who's your man of the match? Jamieson's 10-wicket bag up against Williamson's double century.

63rd over - Henry steams in, trying to get one to straighten from around the wicket. Faheem plays and misses fairly inoccuously. Watling leaps to his feet in a lone appeal that has the crowd laughing. Somehow he's convinced Williamson to review it, and there's clearly no edge. Watling turns and apologises to his slips cordon, who are all having a bit of a chuckle at the keeper's expense.

62nd over - WICKET - Boult gets Fawad fishing outside off and edging to Ross Taylor at first slip for his second scalp of the innings.

Fawad Alam c Taylor b Boult 16 (44b 2x4 0x6)

61st over - Henry back into the attack. He's looked good, 0-11 from his six overs to date.

60th over - Boult continues, man under the helmet at silly mid-on now.

59th over - Faheem rocks back and pulls Southee through midwicket for four.

58th over - Captain Kane continues to lead by example, diving full stretch to save a boundary off Boult. Three from the over.

56th over - Boult back into the attack to spell Jamieson. The veteran quick has had quiet series by his own high standards.

55th over - Southee again. He may not have any wickets to his name, but he's held the other end up well and built pressure well. Maiden.

54th over - Jamieson up for his seventh straight over. Five from it. He's currently at 5-33 from 15 overs total.

53rd over - Jamieson takes a moment to acknowledge the applause, before Southee takes the ball. The hosts can smell blood now.

52nd over - Jamieson in for the sixth over of his spell. Rizwan pounces on a rare overpitched ball, on drives for four.

WICKET - Bowled him! Jamieson nabs his 10th of the test with a peach of an in-swinging yorker to clean up Rizwan's stumps.

Mohammad Rizwan b Jamieson 10 (18b 2x4 0x6)

Five in the first, five in the second - what a revelation this player has been. Huge career ahead.

51st over - Three slips and a gully for Southee against Fawad. Sees him through for a maiden.

49th over - Southee to Rizwan, who plays off his hip for two. The skipper has been the pick of the Pakistan batsmen through these tests. They need him more than ever now.

48th over - WICKET - Jamieson again! Azhar edges a short one off the top of his bat down leg to Watling, big scalp for NZ. It's starting to look ominous for Pakistan. One more wicket and Jamieson secures a 10-bag for the match.

Azhar Ali c †Watling b Jamieson 37 (98b 6x4 0x6)

47th over - Southee catches a soft edge but it doesn't carry to Latham in the slips.

46th over - Jamieson continues. Azhar stands and pulls early through mid-on for four.

44th over - WICKET - Mr Breakthrough AKA Kyle Jamieson gets it done again, Haris edging to Watling for the big man's third wicket. Just keeps on delivering for his team.

Haris Sohail c Watling b Jamieson 15 (45b 2x4 0x6)

43rd over - Mitchell to the popping crease. Haris greets him with a pretty straight drive for four, the only runs from the over.

42nd over - Jamieson with a peach to get the session started. Azhar responds by playing one off his hip for four.

Afternoon session underway...

LUNCH - The NZ attack has asked plenty of questions but Pakistan will be relatively happy with how they've fared so far, having lost just one genuine batsman. Join us back here at 1:40pm for the afternoon session.

41st over - Mitchell to bowl the final over before lunch. Half a chance to Blundell at silly mid-on, just wide. Southee is shifted back to leg gully, and the next ball bounces just in front of him. Trap almost worked to perfection.

39th over - Mitchell with the most hilariously egregious no ball of the summer. That was about two feet over.

37th over - Mitchell takes the ball for the first time, replacing Henry.

36th over - Boult hits the pad, half a shout but it's a tad high.

34th over - Jamieson continues. Azhar on drives for four.

33rd over - Henry hits Haris high on the bat, balloons briefly and drops shy of point. Still plenty in this pitch for the bowlers.

32nd over - Jamieson digs one in and catches Azhar's gloves, ball falls safely as the gasps go up. That was nasty.

31st over - Henry gets Azhar edging to gully but it falls tantalisingly short of Mitchell.

30th over - WICKET - Screamer of a catch from sub fielder Will Young at point! Diving to his right to make a one-handed grab and send Abid packing. Jamieson, again, with the breakthrough.

Abid Ali c sub (WA Young) b Jamieson 26 (77b 3x4 0x6)

29th over - Henry continues. These batsmen looking very assured and patient so far. They'll need to be if Pakistan are to have any hope of salvaging something from this test.

27th over - Big shout as Henry catches Azhar on the front pad. Perhaps a touch high. Azhar bounces back with a glorious cover drive for four.

26th cover - Jamieson in for his first over of the day. Let's see what the breakthrough specialist can do. Maiden.

25th over - Here comes local Matt Henry to bowl his first test over in more than a year. Warms up with a maiden.

23rd over - Azhar plays a textbook cut to Southee through backward point for four.

22nd over - Azhar punches Boult through extra cover for two. Jamieson may not be far away here.

20th over - Abid plays a cut on the up to send Boult to the fence. Azhar ends the over by playing him straight down the ground for four more.

19th over - Bit of "yes, yes,no" between Abid and Azhar. They settle on the "no", wisely. Mitchell does well to save runs with a stop at gully.

17th over - Lovely cover drive for four played by Abid off Southee.

16th over - WICKET - Abbas edges Boult to Watling for a comfortable catch. Somewhat audaciously, the nightwatchman chooses to use a review, which clearly confirms a nick.

Mohammad Abbas c Watling b Boult 3 (29b 0x4 0x6)

15th over - Abid tempted into the drive that NZ have been searching for off Southee, doesn't get hold of it and it flies just wide of gully for four.

14th over - Boult attacking with four slips now. Beats Abid's outside edge to complete a maiden.

13th over - Tim Southee runs in for his first of many on day four. Begins with a maiden.

12th over - Trent Boult will get the day's play started. Abid caught fishing outside his off stump, but they manage to sneak a single.

Day four underway...

10:45am - Morning, cricket fans. Slightly earlier start time today of 10:49, after yesterday's rain delays. The weather in Christchurch seems to be playing its part, so far.

==================================================================================

Hello cricket fans and welcome to Newshub's live coverage of day four of the second test between New Zealand and Pakistan.

The Blackcaps had a superb day three, which set the test match up for a probable victory thanks to the efforts of captain Kane Williamson, Henry Nicholls and Daryl Mitchell.

Williamson, the world's best batsman, notched his fourth test match double-century (238), while Nicholls (157) and Daryl Mitchell (102no) helped New Zealand to a formidable score of 659/6 dec.

Mitchell's ton was his first in test cricket in just his fourth test match, while Nicholls has now scored seven test centuries and two this summer.

Kyle Jamieson's late evening strike reduced the tourists to 8/1, removing Shan Masood for a 24-ball duck, leaving the Blackcaps 354 runs in front with two days to play.

TAB odds: New Zealand $1.05, Pakistan $151, Draw $10.01
